Omega's Double Ds

By skeeve3000, in X-Wing Squad Lists

First time posting a list on the forums. Please be gentle.

So I am super excited for the Imperial veterans pack to be released. I have always loved the Tie Defenders and hope I can finally get to play them competitively. Here is the squad that I have come up with so far.

Omega Leader (21)

- Juke (2)

- Stealth Device (3)

- Comm Relay (3)

Glaive Squadron Pilot #1 (34)

- Juke (2)

- Tie/x7 (-2)

- Twin Ion Engine Mk II (1)

Glaive Squadron Pilot #2 (34)

- Juke (2)

- Tie/x7 (-2)

- Twin Ion Engine Mk II (1)

Total 99 points

All three ships should have an evade token each round. You pick a target with Omega Leader and attack with all three ships. I have had a lot of success playing the Defender with the Tie/x7 title card in test games.

I am trying to find the right ship that will fly well with two Defenders. I really think that Omega Leader can work well with any ships

I like.

I think you'll likely see a lot of lists on the other side as well, with two Glaive's, VI, TIE/D, and Tractor Beam. A tidy 36 points a piece, but able to lay some hurt and help their teammates lay some as well. I'm thinking of pairing it worth a Sigma Squadron Pilot with FCS or Stygium Particle Accelerator.

I like it - very annoying.

Omega Leader without the Stealth Device pairs very well with double Defenders since 74 points is a good amount for a couple of decently equipped ships. It's especially try if you put Vessery in your squad as OL is one of those ships that wants to take a target lock and never spend it.

I also like OL without the Stealth Device alongside a TIE/D Ion Cannon Vessery and a PTL/MkII Engines Ryad.

Glaive Squadron Pilot #1 (38)

- Ruthlessness (3)

- Tie/D (0)

- Tractor beam (1)

Glaive Squadron Pilot #2 (38)

- Ruthlessness (3)

- Tie/D (0)

- Tractor beam (1)

this is the back up I'm looking at should be good vs. swarms and do a lot of damage to large ships too

I hadn't realised ruthlessness could proc from tractor beam. I suppose ruthlessness "if an attack hits" rather than "if damage is caused"....

I know it's amazing
