Victoria Regionals

I'm always amazed when Europeans and Americans make mention of "the scary animals" in Australia - you people have wolves and bears.

That said, my wife recently scolded my kids when they squealed at a "bug" in their room. "Stop screaming!" she said. "It's only a scorpion."

no it's the GERMANS with enormous beers

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NT_Draught

"A Darwin Stubby refers to several large beer bottle sizes in Australia. It was first introduced in April 1958 with an 80-imperial-fluid-ounce (2,270 ml; 76.9 U.S. fl oz) capacity.[2] The 2.25-litre (76.1 U.S. fl oz; 79.2 imp fl oz) Darwin Stubby has an iconic,[3] if kitsch status in Australian folklore."

yes and that company evolved from "CUB" which was basically started larger because of one Emil Resch who acCording to your wiki article "...become the first general manager of CUB."

Let's take a look at him: http://adb.anu.edu.au/biography/resch-emil-karl-8510

In the first paragraph About Emil it says, "Emil was born on 15 February 1860 at Aalen, Württemberg..."

Aalen, Wurttemberg, GERMANYhttps://www.google.com/search?q=Aalen%2C+Württemberg&oq=Aalen%2C+Württemberg&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l3.2745j0j4&client=ms-android-att-aio-us&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8

So effectively your company that brews Giant beers is actually German :P

Eh, if you are going to stretch things that far, then there's nothing "American" other than what's on Reservations...

Yeah, but to get mauled by wolves you have to be waaaaaaay in the middle of nowhere. I've spent a lot of time camping in Massachusetts and never actually seen one, because their population was decimated by hunting. And bears mostly just break into your tent looking for food. We had one at my boyscout camp that was kind of like a mascot. We even named him Waldo because you never knew where you would find him. I went there for ten years and no one ever got attacked.

Well done and thanks for posting report...

Does anyone have the details for the NSW Regionals yet?

Good job Ken!

I'd missed that link. Excited to see Canberra is on a Saturday. Road trip!

Anybody going to Hobard? Hobard in June is going to be fun!

Hi guys.... just moved to bairnsdale... keen 40k, talisman and alround gamer.... do you guys still meet up regularly

Great with spiders, too. There are people here in the States that would die just seeing some of those massive beasts you Australians have in your friggin' houses.

in the US 6.6 people die a year from spider bites in OZ no one has died from a spider bite since 1979 despite 2000 people being bitten per year and ours are more poisons

I guess its safer to live with danger

It's probably those enormous beers you drink.

no it's the GERMANS with enormous beers

its hot over here most of the time so we drink smaller cans/bottles but we make up for it with volume. That way the beer you drinking is always cold

after all the biggest first world problem is warm beer

Second mate, biggest first world problem is American Beer. :D
