You're right though. We can all voice our opinion but one thing that must be remembered by all of us is that X-Wing is a popular game and seems to be getting more popular. With Star Wars movies coming out regularly now, it is only logical that FFG will use the material provided and make more expansions that target newer players as well. I think one thing that is being forgotten here is that FFG doesn't need to tailor every expansion to current players. Anyone that didn't think there would be a new Falcon with Rey as a pilot was kidding themselves. The way Force Awakens ended, the Falcon is hers now and Chewie is her copilot, or at least that's how I am seeing it until Episode 8 says otherwise.

It's true we are playing with toy ships making laser beam sounds lol.

Still though I find it funny how a grown man or women can be so bothered by others voicing their opinions about a game.

I also find it funny that like the OP can criticize people for voicing their lack of approval over the new expansion.

He's basically doing the very same thing he is mocking.

So basically unless you are a sheep and follow what the majority thinks then you have no place to voice your opinions

I'll admit I don't care for it for reasons I stated in other threads, but meh, it's a game with plastic ships.

When I saw it I was kind of glad I saw others displeased with it as I knew that I wasn't the only one

Unlike this thread or the I hate whinners thread they are pretty childish imo.

People need to grow up, and sad as it is, a 30-40 year old man getting upset or being bother by what someone else thinks in regards to plastic space ships is pretty sad

I don't disagree with your post in its entirety and I think people have the right to complain about things they don't like. But.......there is always a but.

Time to state my feelings about this expansion. If FFG came to me and asked me what rebel box set they should put out next it would definitely not be this one. Am I disappointed that FFG didn't make the expansion I wanted? Hell yeah, I am. However, I realize I'm not their only customer. They have a world of potential customers to woo. Episode VIII is approaching and apparently FFG thinks there is an audience for product from the latest movie. Perhaps I'm not the target for this release or maybe there is a larger audience for this product than there is for what I want. Whatever their reason, FFG thought this was the next rebel box they should release. Full disclosure. I'm still exited about HotR and can't wait to get my hands on it, even if I wish it were something else.

Now to the point. Despite the fact that I'm disappointed in FFG's choice, I realize they have a business to run and customers/potential customers other than myself to consider. I personally wouldn't start a thread complaining about the new expansion because in my mind it would seem self centered. Maybe you care about what I want. Maybe you don't. While I'm sure FFG wants my business, I understand they have many people to please other than me. This is all just my opinion and my personal reasons for not starting threads complaining about the next release. I understand the reasons for complaints about gameplay and/or balance even when I don't agree with them. I'm not saying people don't have the right to complain or shouldn't create complaint threads. I'm just giving one possible point of view on why some types of threads might receive some negative responses. Yes, I realize people don't have to read the threads. Just trying to explain why they might receive a less than enthusiastic reception from some.

Instead of having 15 range rulers, or 6 coins, why not just have a ship with Alt paint job

well on a lighter note we shouldnt see as many "Poe repaints" on Facebook....

Well, in a few months (no correlation to HotR release at all, no sir, not at all) my Poe repaint will be spot on to what FFG is releasing, lol. One will be hard pressed to tell the difference between FFG's Poe and my Poe (which many will see is one and the same, lol).

And if you think that's impressive, wait'll you guys see my Falcon mod. I'll be damned if FFG didn't copy the idea I had in my head for it and put it into a fancy new box with my Poe repaint. Man I'm good.

I don't blame people for complaining about being sold ships we already own for new upgrades. I don't mind buying another Falcon, but I'm not everyone. It's similar to why people complained about the TIE Advanced fix being included with the Raider.

And I don't blame people for complaining about other ships not getting fixes. I think the game is fairly balanced overall even with some ships lagging behind, but I can understand why T-65 and non-Corran E-Wing fans feel like they're being neglected.

Complaints about the source material on the other hand are hilarious. Dash Rendar's a cheap knockoff Han Solo with a stupid Rob Liefeld costume from an awful novel and a middling video game. IG-88's four variants are detailed in one of the most infamously bad EU stories. Even if you somehow think the Force Awakens is worse than Kevin J Anderson-penned garbage, let's not whine about cool new stuff because it comes from a story you don't like, especially when said story is the most popular Star Wars thing in the past decade.

As stated before, as soon as the forums on CaptainLackwit.com are up, you get to be a cop. And despite your noble protestations, starting this thread did nothing but stroke your own ego. No one is going to come away from this thinking "Wow, Captain Lackwit REALLY showed me the error of my ways!"

If you want to help out, continue to make positive posts about the stuff you love and don't respond to the "incessant whining" and rampant bitterness. It just ratchets things up and doesn't help, so let those threads die out and contribute to the positive discussions that are critically and constructive additions to the narratives of subjects related to the game.

Don't be self-important or self-indulgent or delusional enough to think anything you do here will really impact the thought process of anyone else on these forums and please don't try and sell us on the idea you're the Dayman. You're neither a master of karate, nor friendship for everyone.
