What do we reckon the four ships for Wave IX are going to be and when can we expect a) the annoucement of them and b) the release?

I think that the four ships we will get will be:

1) Kylo Ren's First Order shuttle (with Kylo Ren crew and maybe Kylo Ren pilot)

2) Special Forces First Order Tie Fighter

3) B-Wing Prototype (with Hera pilot and a mega-weapon which takes up a Cannon and Torp slot)

4) Shadow Caster (bounty hunter ship from Blood Sisters ep of Star Wars:Rebels) [unfortunately another large base scum ship]

Annoucement will likely be at Star Wars Celebration mid-july

I'm also hoping for an annoucement of a Huge Scum ship.

None of those would surprise me in the least.

But Shadow Caster could just as easily be Rebel, since that bounter hunter girl ended up joining the Rebellion a few episodes later. Also, I doubt we'll see a Kylo Ren pilot card for the First Order shuttle. They'll probably wait and see if he ends up being a fighter pilot in Episode 8 so as to avoid a repeat of the Poe Dameron "Heroes of the Resistance" situation.

And for a Scum huge ship, Wild Karrde is the obvious choice. Hopefully packed with Mara Jade's customized Z-95 Mark I.

My guess/opinion is it's because a lot of us played the old X-wing and TIE Fighter PC games, and there the Assault Gunboat is a fun, flexible, and powerful ship.

Well other than it looking cool, in a tabletop version of the game X-Wing id like to fly the ships we flew in that back then.. most of the important ones are in, just the gunboat and 'avenger' are missing i think.

My guess/opinion is it's because a lot of us played the old X-wing and TIE Fighter PC games, and there the Assault Gunboat is a fun, flexible, and powerful ship.

And for those that didn't, it has an Imperial aesthetic without being another TIE.

Following on from the Heroes of the Resistance announcement, I'm not expecting any ships from the Force Awakens to be announced as part of Wave 9.

I'm thinking the opposite, wave 9 to tie into TFA Core Set and the Heroes of the Resistance expansion. Though to do that it would mean the Resistance transport and Quadjumper I suppose. On the other hand First Order fans would get the Upsilon Shuttle and the TIE/sf.

My hopes and dreams are for the Gunboat. My Defender wants them for wingmen

Here goes:

2. FO: SF Tie

3. S&V: Scurrg Bomber

4. Reb: Whatever Jyn Erso and her team flies in Rogue One
