Newbie Tarkin fleet

Hello all. I've been following the forum's for a while and now have decided to join in and make my first post.

I'm considering running one of these 2 fleets competitively and was looking for your advice/pointers on upgrades and tactics as well as which fleet is stronger.

Fleet 1: So far I'm planning on plotting Navigate commands on all ships for the first 2 turns then spamming Concentrated Fire on the 2 non-flagships (maybe a Repair on each for round 4 or 5) and spamming Repair for Tarkin's ISD.

Fleet 2: Same as above except spam Concentrated Fire on all the ships (my flagship has a Defense Liaison in this fleet).

I feel like the second list has a better chance. Personally, I'm not a fan of the liasons, but Tarkin does at least feed them a token for them to work. I doubt that you'll be getting close enough to be able to use black dice with the VSD. I personally either run the Warlord/H9 combo, or Tac Ex with Slaved Turrets. Otherwise, this looks like a pretty solid start to a fleet. If you don't mind me asking, what expansions do you have? This will make it easier to help suggest changes.

I have ACM's cause I find that my opponent tends to favor flying towards my VSD (which I don't normally put any black dice upgrades on) rather than towards and ISD. I can defiantly swap out for Slaved Turrets and I shouldn't need a Tac Ex cause I plan on spamming CF commands anyway.

For expansions I have:

2 ISD

3 VSD 1 Core set + 2 expansions (however my son is working with the Rebellion and he destroyed one of the VSD models so I only can fly 2)

2 Glads

2 Raiders

1 R+V

2 Imp Fighter Packs

1 CR90

1 Neb B

1 AF

1 MC30

Well, if your opponent enjoys flying into the mouth of the beast, then by all means, keep the ACMs until he learns better. I find that Vics need constant Nav orders to keep their front arc on target, which is why I put Tac Ex on the slaved turret flavor.

First deployment, drop the Vic-I at speed 1 near the center and back. Then, drop the ISD on a far edge at speed three. Stall one deployment with the squads, then place the second Vic where your opponent has concentrated most of their fleet. Tarkin on the VSD is to help confuse your opponents target priority.
