Gozanti Cruiser - 2 different TIE's for 2 only???

By SlaveofChrist, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Good morning everyone! Hope your weekend is starting off well!

I just bought my first Epic ship (Rebel Transport) the other day to add to my X-wing collection, and I have the other three on order to arrive next week and I've been mulling over the one Epic ship that I am (strangely) the most excited about - the Imperial Assault Cruiser.

Here are some questions I am not quite sure of...without upgrading a Cargo Upgrade of "Docking Clamps" (let's say I want to use both of my Upgrades slots for something else) does this mean that I can still carry two TIE ships if I don't want to carry four? In reference to the previous question, if I do want to carry four TIE ships, then I need this "Docking Clamps" cargo upgrade correct? While I understand that the docking clamps say that all (four) ships need to be the same type, what about only carrying two ships? Could I, for example, with only carrying two TIE's (no docking clamps) carry two different types as it isn't specified other than through Docking Clamps?

Thanks a lot for your help folks! God bless :).

Text on the card:

You may dock up to 4 TIE fighters, TIE Interceptors, TIE Bombers, or TIE Advanced to this ship. All these ships must be of the same type.

So you need to have docking clamps equipped in order to dock ships - you may dock 1-4 ships - all of those ships must be of the same type

Hi.

No, without docking clamps, you can not have TIEs attached to the Gozanti. I`m guessing it`s the "After you execute a maneuver, you may deploy up to 2 attached ships" on the pilot card that trips you up a little?

And, according to the rules, you can not mix different types.

Aha! Very good. Ok, makes sense. I guess the Gozanti cruiser becomes more of just a cruiser vs. a carrier. Ok, thanks a bunch guys, most appreciated!!! God bless ^_^.
