So we now know the points cost of wave 3 and what they can do....

So what's it going to do to activation counts ?

I'm thinking it will probably put up activations by one or two for most builds types. So what are we all thinking will 5-7 activations become the norm or will craziness push it up higher still.....?

I don't see Imperials getting much value out of pushing it past the 6-7 activation range. I could see some Rebels doing a ludicrous CR90/GR 75 swarm, but even then I feel like if you go past 7 you're dropping some pretty key upgrades. On the whole I'd guess most lists will have 4-5 activations, with more than 6 being rare and less than 3 being unheard of.

Seriously, a fleet with one MC80 and 4 flotillas with the repair crew card, you can have a SUPER tanky fleet.

No you don't. You can only repair 1 card at a time per repair crew so it is not as effective as it sounds. Once damage starts coming in you will be shoveling water out with a thimble

I will just get 2 of each. I feel that will get me enough variety out of them.

It may take multiple activations to remove them but it's generally going to take multiple to put them on in the first place
