Land preview

Yeah he looks fun. With him Davith and Murne might have to try and all unique hero list.

Black market prices, rebel high command, and Leia looks to be wonderfully abusive. Especially if you can figure out a way for Leia to fire twice. Just keep a regular smuggler around just to use that card and he can readily make up his point value.

Oh my my! What a beautiful expansion Lando is! I'm buying him hands down, not only is Cheat to win a 100% dodge exactly when you need it, but he comes wuth a unique love card that makes my hero list possible!

I'm concerned about the wording on Lando's Gambit ability. It says you can 'Before You reroll a die, you may replace it with another die of the same type.' But the paragraph next to the card gives the example of replacing a yellow for a red die. To me, that's not exchanging for the same type.

Type means "attack" or "defence"

You're thinking of colour.

'sfair. Didn't think of it that way.

It didn't sink in today until the article said "replace a black dice for a white dice. At that point. I just said "oh? Oh!!"

best part is you've gotten to see what the other guy rolled already. Did he just get a perfect roll and nothing but a dodge can save you? Swap it out. Did he just roll 2 or three hits? Reroll the black die.

What would be the point of replacing a yellow die with a yellow die? That's just a reroll.

They are really nailing these new unique figures.

He is really good in the campaign. He will be able to chain hide, like Davith but with a very reliable stun attached.

I think he is solid and provides for some real decisions regarding who gets the 2 ally slots in the hoth mission deck.

More grey missions is nice too :)

So I am guessing the mission to win him as an ally is built into the campaign then? As it usually would come with the blister pack.

Looks solid, between him and Bossk they really got the unique figures nailed down this expansion. Makes me excited for Wicket W. Warrick in the Endor box!!!

Cost: -1

Health: 1

Speed: Waddles

Special Ability: Melts your heart with its cuteness, then stabs you in the eye with its spear.

I'm liking the Heroic Effort Card. If you try that Leia is a must to really up the flow of command cards.

Everything in this expansion just looks solid and fun. Can't wait to try Lando.

Everything about Lando is great. His cost means he can fit into a lot of squads. The leader and smuggler traits give him lots of command card options. Double-condition surges are always great, and a +2 damage surge is what you want to see on something rolling green/yellow. The automatic accuracy gives you a lot more flexibility, especially when using gambit. And speaking of gambit, it would be great even if you had to use it before the roll. Combined with resourceful - itself a combination of two excellent abilities, targeting computer and foresight - it's a powerful mix. And any unique figure that has more health than its deployment cost is a good sign.

He isn't an auto-include in Rebel lists, especially with the new competition in the 6-cost unique slot from Davith, but he's a flexible figure that can bring a lot to the table.

Does it seem like the earlier heroes are almost pointless compared to these utility type more affordable versions like Lando and Leia?

Like Han Solo costs us 12 points. Granted he is a big hero in the movies and he has a lot of great skills, but is he really TWICE as good as Lando? He has to be if he costs twice as much.

Are we over due for an errata on the original heroes cost?

I think we're coming very close to Return of the Jedi versions of Han Solo and Chewie, so you can run them without trouble. I feel sorry for people that purchased Han.

But wouldn't they have to make the RoTJ version of Han even more expensive? It would not make sense to make him more useful, but cheaper.

Maybe the current versions of Han and Chewie cause a Rebel player to incur a "We're not in it for your Rebellion, we expect to get paid!" tax.

ROTJ Han and Chewie will be cheaper because you don't have to pay them 17 thousand credits to get you to Alderaan. ;)

The pricing on the early uniques was completely wrong. Only Luke was anywhere near right (well, some of the skirmish versions of the campaign heroes are alright) in that first wave. Better versions are required. I hope they will include the new deployment cards in a big box and not require an additional pack with a mini.

Right they could fix it with an errata, but if they are planning to just make new versions that seems like a shallow fix.

I hope we just get new cards, but seeing how that hasn't happened yet I doubt it. Probably be a reward at one of their seasonal kits, lol

Why do people expect a completely new Chewie card? Pretty sure the one right now lasts all the time periods.

Anyways, campaign-wise the Lando pack is ok. Its probably super dependent on you buying the Bespin Gambit expansion.

Its what most people expect.

It will come in the Bespin box, but depending on what time period it is, it will be playable in any campaign, just like every side mission.
