Totally Pointless Thread

By Baaa, in X-Wing

Someone said there was Pokemon in here but I'm not seeing any... Guess the lure wore off.

They're over here (X-wing Off Topic - Pokemon GO).

put Paw Patrol on for my son to watch on his Birthday so I could read forum posts and not spend time with him.

am I a bad father?

he is happy tho

X-Wing 1.0 may be on the way out and X-Wing 2.0 will soon be the plastic crack of choice for most of the people on these boards;

But this thread will still be Totally Pointless.

Well, since you clearly want to open a discussion on this topic:

It depends, as your use of "good" here is ambiguous. Let's disentangle it a bit, shall we...

If you mean "it tastes good ," then yes. It's one of the few commonly eaten foods in the Western diet that really contains a lot of the umami flavor.

But in just about every other way, it's pretty bad. Environmentally and ecologically, pork is incredibly inefficient to produce, and leaves a disproportionately large impact footprint. From a moral standpoint, industrial farming, slaughtering, and processing facilities tend to have a pretty bad track record with both animal welfare and the treatment and compensation of the human workers. From a health standpoint, bacon is a risky food, both in terms of cardiac and digestive health. Some recent studies suggest that, as far as cancer risks go, a strip of bacon is possibly worse than a pack of cigarettes. Colorectal cancers are one of the fastest growing types of cancer, especially in younger people.

No point?

How about some pointillism!

Here I thought it was going to be a clever post about how points are only in the app/website.

Still, a better post than most a month ago.

I agree

The pointless kind. Of course, saying "pointless necromancy" on these forums is redundant, and therefore pointless. Now I'm rambling... I think forgot the point I was making.

There wasn't one. That was the point.

TLDR?

Bacon is the bestest.
