Just played a game against a fellow ace, he was flying Rey and poe against my defender Marek, countess, and deathfire. I came away with a win but man, Rey is legit! Rerolls for days. New falcon title is a beast too, falcon with a sloop plus Rey is awesome.
Rey is crazy good!
Is the sloop title worth it over the old title? Or just take your time and cruise around the board, kturn when needed or boosting 135 degrees?

When your pilot ability requires keeping people in arc and gives you a superior version of Lone Wolf when you do, I imagine the ability to flip 180 at will would be very much worth it.
Edited by DR4CORey and Kanan really will be a thing plus 3-PO. That is until we find out what new Han and New Chewy can do. I can only assume Han's ability will be better than his old abiity which was already decent.
Gonna put Glitter Stim on her using the illicit spot:
"Glitter Rey".

That evade is really good. Otherwise the falcon starts to go down much faster.
This is a question of efficiency, not of theory. How much more or less is the new title worth the opportunity cost. Treat it as a calculus problem, not an addition problem.
sloop turns with the falcon will be a nice counter to Autothrusters.
Edited by The_Brown_BomberAdding "Outmaneuver" would definetively be my choice
VI, Kanan, Kyle and title seems really solid, and isn't too bad at 53 points. EU is tempting, but I'd rather add more ships.
Old title requires giving up your actin to use, just as the new title does, but much of the time, you want to focus and target lock, or use engine upgrade to boost. The new title is used less often than the old title, as we don't need to continuously sloop, so it's a bit easier to be aggressive with the new title, especially without something like push the limit
Will be interested to see what crew Finn does, too; Rey and Finn should logically be a good 'pair' of crew, like 4-Lom/Zuckuss.
Rey with Kanan and Kyle could be fun :
every turn you can do a S-loop, and have a focus.
If I understand it right :
imagining we star with a stress token
- do a 3 bank, which is white, so clear the stress (Kanan)
- gain a focus because of cleaning the stress (Kyle)
- if needed, turn 180° and gain a stress token (Falcon title)
- fire at your target with focus + 2 rerolls ! Do it again next turn, Defender style, but in a triangle pattern, useful for a big ship easily blocked.
sloop turns with the falcon will be a nice counter to Autothrusters.
Dunno it'll get slaughtered by crackswarms ships with juke and TB carrying defenders.
That's without even mentioning TLT spam.
Sloops never saved aggressors and they had three agility.
It's thematic as all get out but not competitive against high level players.
Defenders don't have a particularly great matchup against high PS, large turret ships, as they can't reposition to get a shot and rely on dice only against its firing. TLTs aren't brought en masse in this meta anyway, so the scariest opposition to Rey is honestly Soontir Fel. This is where the title and VI come in.
I think it's good. We'll need to see exactly how points and upgrades stack up, but I like Rey's ability for the same reason I like Dengar's - it makes a ship with a turret care about actually pointing itself at the enemy, and the new title gives it the tools to do so.
Also - Burst of Speed. A speed 4 SLAM with a large ship is going to be scary as ******. Speed 4 Straight/SLAM 4 straight with a large ship covers over half the board in one movement phase. Fortunately, I don't think it's possible to combine it with boost - the falcon, won't get both smuggling compartments and engine upgrade, and the aggressor tops out at speed 3.
....Unless Slave 1 or hounds tooth can do it. Fett could in theory have Burst Of Speed, Push The Limit, Engine Upgrade (unless Burst is restricted). ****, that's going to get across the board fast....
the default build is VI gunner c3po EU title
both gunner and c3po synergize stupidly well with the falcon and with rey's ability; there are no better options. blame the game designers
VI is essential to get enemy aces in arc, and to out arc-dodge them
anyway, she's eh. Nothing a good torping won't take care of
honestly, can't say I'm really disappointed that the falcon's still getting minced in the competitive meta. Rey's ability is a great step in the right direction, but it's nowhere near enough to offset the horrid boredom with facing a fat PWT

So old MF build with a new pilot then?

Let's not discount the Kanan combo for white S-loops just yet.

I think we are calling them sloop and evade titles. However the title is better than a sloop because if you bump you are not making a red maneuver. Where as a sloop you have to commit to the maneuver and if it is red and you cannot complete it you are bantha fodder.

It's actually even better than that.
Start out Unstressed
- Do a 3 bank (white)
- Turn 180 from falcon title, take a stress
- Immediately clear the stress with Kanan (since you did a white maneuver)
- Get a free focus from Kyle for clearing the stress
- Fire at your target with focus + 2 reroll and still be stress free

Much thanks for illumination.
Anyway. Is the new title worth it over the old title?

You forgot:
-Die horribly because you have zero defence.

Depends; any ship that you destroy or cripple is a ship that isn't going to be returning fire on you... And with that setup she's going to hit pretty hard.
Kyle is a very synergistic part of the setup, but I'm not sure if he's necessary. He does pull it towards an "all offense" type of build, which may not be the best.
He's also a little redundant here because rey takes care of the target lock (effectively) and Kyle handles the focus.. Leaving the falcon with a spare action and little point using it.
I'm not quite sure yet who I would put in the second crew slot (or whether I would spend the spare points on mods/ept's instead) but I do think katarn is (very synergistic) overkill on that build.
