Pairing up cybernetic eyes for double bonus

By Myrubberduckies, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I just sit here secretly wanting Tzeentch to bless me......

Cybernetics rules are funky. Legs come as a pair, but Arms don't. You can't have a +Brawn and a +Agility Arm; they must match if using an Characteristic boosting Arm and they don't stack. That right there is enough evidence to say no to the eyes. If they were different somehow, then it'd probably stand. The real argument comes from are Eyes like Legs, and what is done to one is done to both (at least mechanically. Narratively, you could have a single cybernetic leg, but counts as both.) OR do you treat Eyes like Arms, where they can be different, but any bonuses don't stack?

I think it's perfectly fine to have a single cybernetic eye/leg, the rules are only there to prevent extreme munchkinism of über-stacking stat enhancers.

For a narrative explanation: the legs and eyes are designed to work either individually or as a matched set.

My only issue is that under the Cybernetic Legs it states that you are paying for Both Legs. I'm not sure about the Eyes though. But yes, the narrative can do whatever it needs to do.

Check the dev clarifications, but I believe that all the prices listed are for a single arm/leg/eye, etc…

If all you’re doing is getting a RepliLimb, then you can buy one and be done with it. It will be no stronger or more agile than your other limb of that type, and so you don’t need a pair of them.

But if you’re buying a limb that will grant you an attribute bonus, and that limb is a leg, then you would need to buy a pair of them.

If you’re buying an arm that will give you an attribute bonus, then you are not required to buy a pair of arms to get that bonus. However, if you do end up buying a second arm anyway, then that arm must be of the same type as the first arm. In addition, the bonuses for the second arm don’t stack with the first one.

So, in short, prices listed are per each, but you might be required to buy a pair of them at that price.

Yeah, the price is for one cyberleg, but it says you have to buy a pair of them. Merchandising!
