Bombad Bombardiers OOC

By Richardbuxton, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

I’m still here. I’m playing a character that might go off and do all sorts of crazy whacked out stuff, if you let me. But with only two players in this group and one player isolated in another location, I kinda hate to do that.

We definitely need to regroup.

The mass battle rules make a lot of sense when you’ve got eight or nine players plus their PC minion groups, and three rounds of combat takes four or five hours to execute. Just got through doing that in another game. The mass combat rules would have made so much more sense there.

With smaller groups of players, it might be useful, but I think it’s probably less necessary. Your call.

I'm still here, despite not having been active lately.

Should I make a post to advance my part of the game?

Ok, so 3 PC's and a GM. We can make a game of this even if it moves a little slowly.

You have a hidden base to use, although it's essentially an empty shell at the moment. You have a contact within the rebellion, although the ping is higher than optimal. You also have a small number of allies with you, a couple of Gungans in the kelp base and droids at the processing plant.

Now I would like this to be a game with days to weeks of in game time between events. It will allow you more freedom on recon, base building, resources gathering, and training/construction of any recruits.

If that's fine with all of you then I'll ask what your character would like to be doing for the next day, checking on the destroyed Gungan camp was mentioned, if everyone was interested in that then it could be a good way for everyone to meet back up.

That sounds like a game I’d enjoy working towards and playing in once we got there.

Thanks!

I sat down to make a post (i realized I haven't done so in a while) and I wasn't sure what the plan was.

Ha! Perhaps let's get a roll to see how well you get to the camp, I think we can then have another check for your investigation of it.

Pick the skills you want to focus on using for both tasks and I'll set a difficulty

Is it just me and Bip Bip? Or is the whole Gungan refugee crew returning to camps?

That's up to you, since your the leader by inheritance. If you would like you could spend some time directing them to clean the place up a bit, Average Leadership with a Setback. Success will set up some nice bunks, advantage and triumph can be used for many things, but getting rid of the crocodile permanently would be a good idea.

Hmm. So I think I may have confused myself. When we're talking about the camps, are we talking about the camp that the empire attacked or the new nook Bip Bip had discovered? Or something else entirely?

For simplicity let's define a few locations:

The Town: the place the humans live, including a Barracks full of soldiers.

The Rigs: where the Plasma is extracted from the ground. These are out at sea.

The Plant: where plasma is refined, close to the town.

The Starport: where shuttles and freighters land, close to The Town.

The Camp: where the Gungans (including the PC's) had lived, until the Imperials exerted their control and put them into proper slavery.

The Base: The Rebel Base aka Your Base, an abandoned flooded underground structure beneath a kelp forest a couple of kilometres out to sea from the Town.

In that case. I would like to only perform a Stealth or Survival check to sneak Bip Bip and myself back to the camp to get a measure of the situation.

Average, 2 setback for alertness of imperials

Since you didn't specify survival or Stealth I am going to pick Survival. The justification is that Bii knows that area well. he knows the lagoon from which Bip Bip and himself will emerge from, and time time of day they will emerge. He will time it so the fog is thickest. During early morning. Just after dawn.

Survival: 2eA+1eP+2eD+2eS 2 successes, 1 advantage

Mee-sa follow you-sa. ;)

I feel like I owe you guys a huge apology. Since deciding to join this adventure, I've become employed (a situation I didn't expect, since I've been without work for over a decade now), been in and out of the hospital a couple times (deep-vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolisms), and started caring for my granddaughter during the day while my daughter is taking classes. I've only managed to post a handful of times on these boards at all over the last couple months.

Things are starting to cool down a bit, so if you'll have me I wouldn't mind trying to catch up and get involved. But I can understand if you don't want to take the chance.

Your always welcome, life is always a bigger priority than a couple of nerds on some RPG forum! Glad to hear your having a good patch, and feel free to post whenever you're able.

I posted in IC for your arrival at the destroyed Camp, your success gave you a good half hour of searching before the change of watch, and your confident those soldiers you see are the only guards.

Hmm.. Now I'm not sure which IC post to respond to. We could either emerge and scout the camp or meet up with our Gungan fellow.

I apologise for being absent again. Will try to catch up as soon as I am able to.

Feel free to respond to both, bring Simon into the camp with you.

Ping?

Pong

Yes. I'll take blame again on this one. Work has been killing me and all I've felt like doing when I get home has been playing video games. The posting I have been able to do has been on minor breaks while at work. However, since I have time I'll start working on a post now.

kaose — Sorry, but in Bip-Bip’s mind you just indicated that you were a spy for the Impies, and so he’s not going to react to your words in the way that you probably expected. ;)

Wishing to avoid PC v PC dice rolls, are you both happy to role play this out?
