Bombad Bombardiers OOC

By Richardbuxton, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

What did I miss in my time gone. (I really forgot about the AoR forums, as it wasn't on my "Frequently visited" list.

  • The Scout and Tactician went fishing for a while, one of the Humans got eaten by a giant fish although the Human in charge of the entire operation escaped with his life.
  • Teles boss came back and found him to have not put the Droid ML back together, so sent him for discipling with the Plant overseer/manager, he is on his way there now.
  • A new Gungan arrived in the workshop, specialising in Cybernetics, he tried fixing the ML himself but didn't have time. He "borrowed" EMC with some quick talking then headed to the Camp
  • A Riot has begun in the Gungan camp; EMC, Bii, Jek and Moppo are all there now trying to calm them down or at least direct their anger.

Teles is not actually being escorted, the risk of punishment alone is expected to be enough of a reason for him to follow orders.... but your could definitely just walk of to camp to see what all the fuss is about if you wanted.

I have had a couple of days off, sick kids and little sleep has eaten into my time, but it's given me a chance to get inspired. I would like to call an end to this "session" and have a slight reset/screen wipe. I think it's a good idea to bring everyone who is still interested in playing together. Shifting the whole group to the Camp, post riot and start dealing with the aftermath and consequences. Faddo Nass brings you all together to discuss plans for disrupting the Imperials in the face of this clear disregard and possible murrder of Gungans. We will move away from day to day stuff and properly into the espionage this campaign should be about. Let me know who's keen to continue and we can pick it back up in the next day or so.

So 30xp each, 10 Duty each plus 5 extra each for the Droid and Gungan recruitment (I know it's not the normal way but it works for this)

DIAMOND FADE TO BLACK! :D

Lets just say I wrestle Moraq in, so we will make it for time for riot, and you can strip Jek Jek off whatever gear you think appropriate and let me know.

Spending 10 xp first rank Melee, 10 xp first rank Ranged Light, 10 xp second rank Knowledge: Warfare.

Just to be sure, so 15 Duty total? Out of 100? Do we count from 0 Rank to 1 or start 1?

draft for beginning of next scene, want to explore something solo, and see if you flow, oh great Galaxy Master -

Jek Jek returns to his tent and meditates till dawn. The time is right, the stars align. I will use what my grandfathers tough me, and return to my strong self. The war is about to begin, I must prepare.

The old wrinkled fool ruse slowly, and started to preform an odd yoga-like stretch exercises. He moves in a fluid motion, and preforms some "kata" movements, strongly resembling melee strikes, with an empty hand.

His muscles remember, his breath and mind are aligned. He is not his body, he is not his shell... and the the mask is eternal bliss. He strikes... not furiously, but methodically, the same patterns over and over again, while reciting his mantra.

His look is focused, disciplined, his spark... attempting to return.

Howeverm he falls tired, retreating to lean on his cane, then holding it upward like a sword, to strike... but falling exhausted on it again, in a loud cue sound. The silence at camp grounds is broken by that noise. Although panting, Jek Jek Lingoss kept his resolve, and began to smirk, his old frightening almost-evil smug face. He used to scare the younglings with his stares and smirks, he thought... as someone broke the entry flap of the tent.

Sun shines in the brightest morning, and a stranger approaches in.

The entire parties Duty total will now be 75 at rank 0. 25 more Duty between you and you will be rewarded in some way.

And that's a great post, very cool

Second rank of Commanding Presence @ 20XP and a second rank of Cool @ 10XP

Am waiting on XP spending for a moment...

Waiting out the delayed confusion, Moppo offers a new plan and direction for action (IC)

Well, I spend 20 XP to buy Tinkerer. I am fairly happy with the skills I have, and will save the remainder for later.

Sinking the Plant could accidentally result in its destruction, finding a place to hide though is a very good idea. Im putting together some more ideas at the moment to shift this campaign up a gear. probably another day or 2 to get everything down, if thats cool.

Im going to put a post up asking if anyone else wants to join this game, i would really like to increase the number of PC's to 6 if possible. Currently we have:

kaosoe: Bii-Mii Wuu a Gungan Comander Tactician

RusakRakesh: Jek Jek a Gungan scout;

cimmerianthief: Moppo Wupps a Gungan Cyber tech/Droid tech

Arctanaar: EMC-313 Droid Engineer Scientist who really likes to blow stuff up

GMRen: Teles

I have not seen GMRen here lately, so i will assume he is busy with other stuff; we need 2 more players. If any of you know people who would be interested then feel free to PM them or encourage them to make an account and join the community.

My idea for this game is to upset the apple cart, I intend to push you into a much more guerrilla warfare style campaign, i think with the change in direction its only fair to offer you the opportunity to modify your PC's if your not particularly happy with something you have previously chosen. I have arranged a Martyr to your cause too, so thats coming.

See that copying adresses directly from the forums, is harder because they are shortened. Jek Jek's and Moppo's links are broken. My correct one is swsheets.com/c/xtm9ujumn-jek-jek-lingoss

Fixed both, thanks for that.

Since I came to the party late, I thought I could capitalize on the droids in the factory, especially with some lags in others' posts. However, droids are not quite my preference. After talking with our GM, I introduce Wude Messen, a Gungan Warden. My thoughts are that this character has some Influential Force powers, and offers some unique combat options.

We can use Moppo Wupps as fodder for whatever plan we devise; I won't be using him any more and leave him to GM action. I'll stick to Force-users, as I understand their rules better. Also, I don't step on any others' toes in regards to specializations.

I took 1000 credits and +5 Duty (Enemy Demoralization).

A link to my brawlin' bruiser is here: http://swsheets.com/c/jrgbkqm1x-wude-messen

He's an Outlaw Agent who believes the Gungan Species has importance to the Force balance, and took an oath to protect Gungans.

What are your thoughts on non-jedi force users?

A elderly gungan Seeker/Hermit with Heal and Battlemind, and no glowstick.

Non Jedi is the best! No seriously Obi-Wan and Yoda are (IMHO) the last Jedi at this point in time, and you are not playing one of them. Being Force User could be complex due to the very adversarial nature on this campaign, expect conflict and hard decisions... Playing to that is important

Conversely, what about playing the creepy witchdoctor, who everyone knows uses dark magics but is helping liberate his people because he wants the Empire to leave him alone?

Starting with 19 morality, occasionally doing ceremonial animal sacrifice to keep morality down, but willing to play ball with the party, with enough ranks of Medicine and enough "natural" stims, drugs, and poisons that he's worth working with.

It looks like my character is setting himself up to being the leader of this "merry" band with Jek-Jek as his advisor. While Bii has no compunctions with slaying imperials, he certainly has a moral compass so there is definitely room for a light-side Force user, although with a definite gray tint.

Now THAT sounds interesting. I guess 0 Duty and starting as a Darkside character would work, no extra XP or credits. Also keep in mind Dark Siders tend to be selfish, for this reason by RAW Heal is only for Light Side users. Healing with medicine is fine, although you would want to play up the benefits your character is seeing from that.

Possibly you may want to consider playing a Light Side character flirting with the Dark. Not afraid to draw upon the dark side, turning a blind eye to the darker things etc.

We've got 180 XP, including racial, right? Let me work on a sheet, figure out what I can fit in on that budget. I may be relying more on Bind and Misdirect, or more direct dark magics if I can hit FR3 with enough points left.

Depends on the Duty, you're probably better aiming for FR2 in a FR 3 tree then focus on a force power that can use it; Bind, Harm or Move, otherwise your characteristics could be quite low. But play with the idea and see what it brings; Healer Sage is a brutal combination, but there are many ways to get cheap FR2, Sage, Seer, Navigator, Pathfinder.

Pathfinder gives me the Medicine training I need and a cheaper FR2 than Hermit. I was going to pick up Int 3, cross into Hermit and a cheaper unranked Animal Bond to get me started toward the next FR, but I remebered gungans dont start with int 2. Scratching Hermit, though, I've got enough XP to get the Harm upgrade that heals an engaged ally. (and gives them a conflict)

Dark Morality (no duty, no XP or credits)

Int 2+int 3 (50 xp)

Seeker/Pathfinder (Xenoligy, Survival, Vigilance/Medicine, Survival 2)

Medicine 2 (10)

Grit (5)

Keen eyed (10)

Animal Empathy (15)

Animal Bond (15)

FR2 (20)

Harm (15) (I assume no mentor)

Control-Drain Strain (20)

Control-Drain Wounds (20)

180 XP, right? 500 creds and a pet.

3500 credits (I gave everyone 3k extra) the rest looks right to me.

Any way it's a cool character, I'm interested to see how you describe the Harm effects.

(Edit: ignore ignore. Intelect is important.)

This Dark Side Harmer will pair nicely with my Coercive Warden. Since he wears concealing robes, my character might pass as a member of this Gungan cult.

Well, we lull in posting, and suddenly things got dark. :)

Could be funny seeing the muggles stopping the Force Users being violent, bit of a change from the norm!

So, you folks have me interested. I’ve got to work up a concept, though.

Does anyone here have any suggestions? Do you need any pilots or ranged weapons types?
