I really love that we are going to get a level 9 Poe and Rey and new titles and all of that. But, I really really really am itching to fly t-65s again. They aren't 'broken.' Their dial isn't all that bad. Its just that for the points, there are better alternatives for the role they'd be playing as. *cough* B-Wing.
I just want to fly them again. I don't judge a ship based on it's top pilots. Because we all know how cool Wedge and Biggs are. I judge them based on their lowest level pilots and if they are not only awesomely fun, but a worth while venture in a competitive game.
Everyone knows they are obsolete in terms of tourney play. (Don't say they aren't because Wedge or Biggs or blah blah.) Because generic pilots of other ships fill the void when points are left over. It seems it's every other ship that is flown in this regard. Other than the X-Wing. The game's namesake.
FF, Just announce it already and put me out of my misery please?
I shouldn't feel bum'd about the Heroes expansion, but I am. Because it's not Rebel Veterans.
1) T-65s are on a par with B-wings now for efficiency - 6 health and 2 agility vs 8 health and 1 agility. Dials are a preference thing, but I prefer the T-65s. Bs can take FCS and advanced sensors, Xs can take mechs like r5p9, r3a2, etc. But Bs are streets ahead with Barrel roll, though.
In short, it's pretty close, and named Xs can be solid. Nothing's stopping you from rocking 4 rookies and a Z - a solidly competitive, but not top tier, squad.
2) Rogue One is out in December. Expect T-65s to get plastered with love around that time, to tie in with this film about, well, T-65s. So youhave about a 7 month wait for T65s to be reborn - not long on the X-wing time scale...
3) In the meantime can't you just fly the other X-wing?
4) The new expansion has only had about 20% of its cards spolied. My guess would be that the 65 will benefit from this expansion too.

i don't think Rogue One has anything to do with T-65's i'd be surprised if there are any space ship battles in the film. It was described as a ground war, WW2 film set in the Star Wars universe.
"Rogue" has nothing to do with Rogue Squadron, which isn't canon.

nope.
Xs can take mechs like r5p9, r3a2, etc.
R3-A2 is for Y-Wings, R5-P9 is for aces, not X-Wings.

There were photos of an X-wing with a new paint scheme, I doubt they'd have something like that and just used it as a background element.

Yup, we know it's not about Rogue Squadron, but we also know there are X wings in the movie.
Wow, another moaning thread. We feel for you, OP! You're special and conflicted! And we totally needed a new thread!
Yup this was not the expansion rebels wanted to see.
Yup this was not the expansion rebels wanted to see.
It's the expansion the Rebels deserve, but not the one they need right now. Because it's not our Veterans pack, it's a Hero pack.
This is Resistence: Most Wanted. So yeah I'm bummed GUNBOAT isn't in it.
Anyway, T-65s ARE getting some love in this set, I'm sure. Hey, at the very least there's two copies of Integrated Astromech. And a new unique mech, looks like. And a few other double-packed upgrades that look suspiciously like t-65 fixes. Yeah, they are making you pay 40 bucks for another falcon and T-70, but it's better than 60 bucks for an EPIC Transport and very slightly repainted T-65.
Also, since this YT-1300 and T-70 models are physically different from the previous releases, do they still count as tourney legal? We need a FAQ!!!!!!!! ARGH!!!!!!!!

The T-70 comes with the 2 generic cards so yeah it's got to be. The YT-1300 you have to figure is going to be too since the ship name is the same. I guess it the resistance dial will make it a bit ambiguous but I can't see it being restricted to the proper pilots.
Guess what. Bwings are overcosted now.
. TLT Ys are basically always better. And scouts are completely under costed and literally always better. Except for that one guy who decided to win a regionals with xxxxz
Also even if a ship 'needs' a fix or not, FFG is ultimately going to make decision that make most business sense...
Release a fix for T-65s/Scyks/whatever
vs
Release an awesome pack of goodies and characters from that HUGE new Star Wars movie that just came out, and a tie in with the new core set that just got 1000s of new players into the game
It's a no-brainer...
True true. It probably got butt loads of people into the game. Still though, the X-Wing is the game's namesake. Gotta count for something. Hopefully.
I do wonder what else they have to go with the Heroes expansion that may have something to do with the T-65. Could be nothing. Or could be something. As for the Rogue thing, that'd be coolio.
X-wing?

^
honestly, this is the biggest thing
we're conflating the incredibly dull spoiler (oh look, it's the same pilot @+1 ps, rey and two new titles that highly favor high PS pilots, which is all either ship used before anyway!) with the rest of the expansion
it has potential to be an incredible addition to the game (minus the PWT, of course
) and probably isn't replacing Rebel Vets in anything but the current limelight
Nvm
Edited by headache62The X-wing isn't going to "fixed" in one release. Step one was the Intergrated Astromech. Step two is one of the unspoiled cards in Heroes (I think). Then another peice will come in Rouge One release. Yes it said that it's ground but there are alot of flight suits in the teaser.
Disney won't let them.
Yet.

The interceptors were with Autothrusters.
Advanced were with x1 and ATC.
Defenders were with /D and x7.
Yeah, interceptors were totally fixed, that's why you see them all over the place!
TIE Advanced are eating up the meta since their title and special system upgrade fixed em right up!
Here's hoping Defenders actually rock, since their 'fix' was multiple cards that allow diversity in their lists.

I should hope Rogue Squadron is canon considering they appear in ESB.
^ that's Rogue Flight. Not Rogue Squadron.

if this was the case (it's not), it's a pretty crappy fix
exactly as many T-70 pilots are viable as the T-65 (PS 8 Poe and Biggs respectively)
