Well it is going to be some time before Heroes comes out so we have time to start hammering down the naming convention by the time it all reaches Vassal (assuming the dials are the same).

I say we just assume Poe 2.0 is the real Poe, and PS8 Poe was just the rough draft. (Yeah, I know, not happening, as it would force people to buy the new set instead of using a Poe they already paid for, so don't take this as a serious suggestion.)

Verbally I would just call them 8 Poe and 9 Poe. Why be wordy? It just slows things down. Less words are always good.

Every time I hear/read his name I hear the lyrical savants of NWA screaming "$%&@ tha Poe-lice!"

Then imagine these hard core rapper fellas with their big clothes and clocks all bouncing around a gaming table, rolling dice and busting fools with their 12 gauges and their nines.

That's what I am getting a lot. Unless someone wants to make a straw poll counting up the threads seems to be the popular consensus. Although I do like 8oe "Boe" & 9oe "Poe" Then again Slow Poe and Pro also a really good name for the two with the PS8 most likely becoming the unpopular one.

New Poe is R5-Poe9. Not sure where that leaves old Poe though.

Preparing the next version of the vassal module (5.7.3), I went with:

Poe Dameron

Poe Dameron 2

I thought about naming the 2nd one; Poe Dameron TFA, but that might get unintuitive once multiples come from other sources. Order of appearance, that's simple enough.

PS8 Poe is obviously LoPoe

old Solo is Obviously Han Yolo

new Chewbaca is Newbaca

new Maarek is Maarked for Destruction

OlPoe and NuPoe or 8 Poe and 9 Poe. Virtually everything else is trying way too hard to be cute or requires an explanation as to what you mean, e.g. "Pro".

We only need to name the card not the card combinations. Poe 7 is just Poe 8 w/ adaptability. Poe 8 w/adaptability is not the same as Poe 9.

Sure, I mean squadron builders don't use TAP for the TIE Adv. Prototype. Still as an option I guess Poe Dameron and Poe Dameron 2 could be put in as the Vassal designations.
