I can see why it would suck for older long term players (although I am personally fine with it). I think the intention was to give new players everything they need rather than "Now go out and buy this expansion too." which could put people off.

That's not a really fair estimation, Most Wanted was aimed at existing players in the game who wanted to get into scum and villainy. They provide you with ships you can use immediately in the pack and a 'conversion pack' for one ship from each faction (HWK for Rebel, and Firespray for Imperial) so even if you have a dedicated faction player there, he is only one ship down from what he can play.

This pack as I have said before is aimed at new players, not existing players, and since they want to get as many new people into the hobby, they will make it easy to play ships right out of the box for this one, especially considering its status as a 'hero' ship.

In the history of the game, you do know precedence is against that option, right? Most Wanted was a one time thing, so far. I mean, they packaged the Advanced fix with an Epic.

And once again, all evidence points toward this being a really, really good business move for FFG. I mean, the Falcon is STILL their best selling model. Why wouldn't it be a good idea to sell another one?

I get why some people would rather have a $30 pack then a $40 pack when one of the ships in it is a ship they may not want a 2nd of... But considering the buying habits of most of us, that argument really rings a bit hollow.

But sure in theory $10 less and getting Rey and the rest would be better... But there is the slight problem of no 2nd ship to include... Unless they were going to put 2 T-70's in there, which from a marketing standpoint makes a ton less sense than a new YT-1300.

But my issue is... If someone says 'I don't like this, and may not buy it because I don't want a 2nd Falcon' that's their opinion and they're welcome to it. But when someone says 'this pack was a mistake they should of done it differently' that's not just an opinion... That's ignoring the the main reason that FFG is making it, which is to sell a ton of them.

As far as a business decision, this one is killer. They release an updated version of their most popular ship, and tie it into a very popular movie. It's a huge win-win for them. Plus they know most of us will buy it regardless of how much we may want a second Falcon for the sake of the pilots, upgrades and black and orange X-wing.

I guess I'm really sick and tired of people complaining every time FFG makes something they may not want and ignoring the fact that a lot of other people actually do want it.

Honestly, this. This is a thing that crops up in the gunboat thread a lot.

Just because you don't want something, a load of people still do and as long as it doesn't create an NPE or really mine a hated source (So Suncrusher and Vong are pretty much IT for this, maybe prequels MAYBE). People still want it, and really you don't have to buy it.

I'm happy with this this expac. It was unexpected. It's cool and will bring in new players or appeal to those who love to play casually.

It has some great pilots, some new upgrades and gives all of us a Black T-70 for those of us without the time, inclination or talent to repaint ships.

Sure, we'd like to see some Scum aces fix or the T-65 get some love. But I reckon that stuff is one the way.

When my daughter (>10yrs) complains about not getting "enough stuff" I tell her:

"It's like being given a chocolate cookie for free: complaining it's not a chocolate and peanut butter cookie is a little ungrateful."

I meant in the general sense. Plural meaning multiple lists, sort of like "the meta is dominated by Whispers and Poes".

The Falcon in general is not really great at the moment. Sorry if you Didn't know... This title is not enough to change that in any way. Even worse it's not as good as the old title!

Aren't you a cheeky one? The Falcon has always been good, the longest lasting ship to stay in the meta. Han + Jake was a tournament-winning list up until wave 8 was released. Sure, the Rebels are scared to death of Uboats and won't bring Falcons, but given time, it would show up again. Even moreso now that it receives updates.

Your dismissal of the entire pack for competitive play is hilarious though.

I did not say that Rebels are bad, but that they had to change their lists and playstyle afer U-Boats 100%. Basically all their competitive lists up to that point are just gone, but they still won with totally different lists like Crack-As and Ghost.

Just maybe read better next time!

The falcon won basically nothing at all after TLTs too, so that's now nearly a year of competitive abstinence... So having it updated while the meta is full of hard counters is just totally useless in a competitive light.

I've got one of most ships and multiples of some smaller ones.

I don't 'need' another Falcon or T-70 but it looks interesting and I may buy it or put it on my Xmas list. I hope it will make FFG money.

Because our darling E-wings and X-wings, which we willfully purchased either knowing the majority of the pilots were under powered, or just decided to buy before these things could be ironed out due to lack of patience, certainly need to be addressed more than the inclusions of characters from the Multi-billion dollar grossing film, The Force Awakens.

Not like that will bring in any new players and grow the community or anything.

Trust me. FFG understands business well enough to know this was the correct expansion to release right now.

And let's not forget there's another Star Wars movie coming out this holiday season that takes place in the T-65 era. If you're hoping for a fix, it would make way more sense to package it with that release.

I don't have two Falcons and never really wanted them. But we felt very confident that this release was coming. I'm surprised that is wasn't right after the movie. There should be plenty of new players that will jump into this.

I'm not so big on playing multiples of large ships. But that's me and has nothing to do with everyone else. I'll probably get it since I've gotten everything else so far. But this was the first time my wife said "why do you need that?". She always supported my purchases but questions this one. Again that's me.

So we have an expansion that everyone expected. I'm okay with that.

On a side note it was be really awesome if we could solve the E and X wings issues soon. Then whoopie!!!! We should be in a great position. I hope.

On the upside, if you play furball with a lot of people having a second Falcon can help if to people want it.

There has been some good defense for this expansion listed here. Good enough that I have now added it to my list of things to buy. I realized that I can skip the T70 expansion so thereby eliminate some redundancy. And as has been said multiple YT1300 lists are possible, we'll just have to see how this works.

This is half cool. I love the new black and orange ship and will pay the money just for it.

I don't need another freaking Falcon though! My first thought was, "who can I sell my Falcon model to so I don't have two of them?"

They SHOULD have treated this like the Most Wanted expansion. Include cards for Millennium Falcon but don't include the actual ship, instead have a different ship. Two T-70s would have been better, or put that big shuttle thing that Leia was in in it.

And to put this in perspective, some of us already have Poe's black and orange X-wing, but think that the rectangular rectenna dish on the Falcon is sweet and would pay money just for that. There's no way they're going to please everybody.
