I have to say, while new news is good news, this release dissapoints me. A falcon repackage was unavoidable, we needed Rey and Finn and that's cool, Rey is awesome. But putting a T-70 in there with the super imaginative PS9 Poe Dameron? He's both already in the game and already in that ship. He has a place in the meta, why is he in this box?

Yeah, the new Falcon is a kosher introduction. Packaging it with a small ship is a pretty solid idea.

... Packaging it with the "third" T-70 expansion, however... That seems incredibly off kilter.

I like Poe at PS9, don't get me wrong, but I would have liked just about anything ELSE first.

Waste of an expansion altogether I say

Until Rogue One comes out for FFG to mine for newer ships, there is a limited amount of ships from VII that they can use. The black T-70 is Poe's, so it makes sense that he would be in it (regardless of the PS/points change). It does allow them to go back and re-release some old pilots if they wish, changing up their points or abilities, by setting a precedent. You are also getting three other unique T-70 pilots, so there is that.

I personally would have liked the black T-70 to be in its own expansion, and have the escape from Jakku idea with the new Falcon and 2 TIE s/f, but any release for this game is good. Every release gives a greater depth to the game.

It's a resistance box. He's in the resistance. Seems straightforward.

In all seriousness this reminds me of the wave 3-4 interim, where while waiting for TIE Defenders, Phantoms and those amazing looking E-wings (hah) we had a GR-75 CR-90 and aces, both seemed relatively underwhelming at the time, but beneath the surface... Well. C3PO. RG titles, Jamming, Stressbots, Carnor, Tarn...

If Force Awakens would have featured more fighters, probably wouldn't have this issue.

Either way, the game is called X-wing after all. So if there is a lot of X-wing options, fine by me.

so really, it's more like "Heroes of the Wasted news slot". They've got tons of potentially cool things; spoiled the least interesting of the lot

They SHOULD have treated this like the Most Wanted expansion. Include cards for Millennium Falcon but don't include the actual ship, instead have a different ship. Two T-70s would have been better, or put that big shuttle thing that Leia was in in it.

For us experienced players, i can see this being a bit of a bummer. However, this is a fabulous expansion for newer players!

so can we expect new versions of pilots in the same ships in future expansions?

Wave 9 HAS to be Gunboat and other ships for scum and rebels

I was a bit disappointed. I would have preferred something new. Though I noticed it's code is SWX57 so there will be lots more to see.

resistance has been playable since the ep 7 core, both as solely resistance or as part of Rebels

That's exactly what this is. If PS means anything Poe should've always been PS9. Plus there's actual names for Red and Blue Ace now.

Is anyone at all actually shocked at a black and orange T-70? You had to know it was coming. Same goes for the Falcon, which is per FFG still one of their top selling ships, the chance to update it for the movie and put out new pilots... Again is anyone actually surprised at this?

Going back to Poe. I suppose they could've not included him, although that would seem odd since that's his X-wing... Plus it's not like by including Poe they didn't include something else.

The Falcon has an updated model beyond the dish. The gap between the two front prongs seems deeper, for one.

We also don't know if Han or Chewie will have updated pilot abilities to go with this version of the ship. While their pilot skill numbers are the same, they're also 30 years older. It stands to reason that they might have new tricks.

Plus, we're getting what looks like two EPTs, more Integrated astromechs (I can finally run my 4x Blue Squadron Novice list!), Illicit slots for YT-1300s and probably one more, a new Tech Upgrade for X-Wings and TIE/fo Fighters, and crew versions of Finn and Rey.

The article did say that they are getting new abilities.

Can't possibly happen before Episode VIII (I'd imagine), but...I could see a future date where FFG decides that the game has 5 factions instead of 3...

Or a terrible temptation, speaking as a new player who jumped in on the S&V side (see my sig line). I had scant interest in the old MF save for the Engine Upgrade, which can be had for $10 or so on eBay. Would it have been so hard to include an S&V pilot? Han, even?

Yes, I'm disappointed there isn't some kind of S&V Aces package, but the Illicit card will woo new players who have some S&V. It's definitely a Siren call, as I would love to own a Falcon. And I do have the TFA Core, HWK and the MV dual allegience starships, so could put together a decent Resistance squad with that addition. Plus I don't have the burden of owning a previous Falcon or a fleet of Rebel ships.
