They do have the resistance logo on the pilot cards fro new Han and new Chewie. So that might help a bit.
Heroes of the Resistance!!!
I'm kinda sad I already own 4 T-70s and 2 Falcons.
and I REALLY hope there's nothing in this box that even TEMPTS me to buy 2 of them. I'll cry.
Ya, this is the biggest bummer for veteran players. I have 2 Falcons, but one is unopened. For SURE trying to sell that thing now.
I bought my second Falcon today before seeing the announcement. Wouldn't mind so much if I didn't know I was buying this.
On a related note. I assume that it would be tournament legal to filed the two different YT-1300 models while using two pilots from a single set.
Nothing new You could always Fly Han and Chewie or Han and Lando. The only restriction is the unique dot name you cannot have more than one unique dot.
That being said If you have taken hero falcon title you cannot take evade falcon title. There can only be one Millennium Falcon (although there can be numerous illegally modified YT-1300s)
The Rebs won't be able to field a PS 8 T-70 pilot with open ept anymore if they field the PS 9.
Because of the laws of balance or whatever, PS 9 large and small ship pilots coming up for the First Order.
This does open up the possibility of them reprinting the Heavy Scyk title as something usable.
Edited by VulfI always though illicit was supposed to be a unique flavor exclusive to scum. Why give it to rebels too?
Han and Chewie as smugglers were originally S&V, maybe it's a dual option. Certainly most of the Falcon upgrades have always been illicit, lol

well.. if makesyou feel better here in Brazil we do not have the t-70 but we wil receive these before the T70 ... or even before wave 4 that we still did not receive... but we totally have wave 6.
I'm mostly peturbed by Poe being PS9 and PS8 in the same ship and the same ability. Yes, it's disney's fault for being so strict on pre-movie info that the devs got stuff wrong, but this is a really... hacky way to fix it, especially with a title card, y'know, right there.
Then we have Chewie and Han are promised to be the same PS in the same ship but with different abilities.
When we first saw pilots in different ships, I was all excited. Now I'm a little peturbed at just what a mess this is going to end up. The ships are still named the same, right? So you can put the Old Falcon title on New Chewie, or something?
So much for "So, I'm flying Chewie with Millenium Falcon, Predator, and Engine Upgrade...".
the old and new falcon titles are yt-1300 only
new chewie and han are flying yt-1300s and can have either title. Both titles are unique and share the same name, however, so you can't fly them both in the same squad
both new and old chewie/han are unique (They have a dote in front of their name). You cannot fly new and old chewie together and you cannot fly new and old han together (or with their crew upgrade counterparts). You can fly rebel chewie with resistance han and vice versa
there is no room for confusion
On the contrary: The example of "Chewie with Millenium Falcon" now represents four different build combinations:
OldChewie + OldTitle
OldChewie + NewTitle
NewChewie + OldTitle
NewChewie + OldTitle
Sure, I can look at the card and check which one someone means. Or maybe veterans will get good at a standard nomenclature and it won't be a problem for long. But never have we had the same name in the same slot [including 'pilot' here] have differing abilities, and while I realise the designers can do what they want, I'm kind of horrified that this, of all things, is a design rule they elected to deliberately break.
I just realized the headache this will create for tournaments. You are going to have to make certain that every player taking any of these cards (Han, Chewie, MF title, Poe) is crystal clear on which version of the pilot/title they are using when they turn in their squad. If tourney organizers are lax about this, I can see a dirty player flying Chewbacca + MF title w/ Poe support, and then, after taking a peek at his opponent's list, he just pulls out the better of the 2 choices for each for the match up.
Different point costs could keep this from happening, but the MF titles are both 1, so, at least with that, it's an issue worth noting.
Tournaments, listbuilding, and casual discussions all just got that little bit harder to keep track of. I think that's why it annoys me so much.
Oh boo freaking hoo...I love X-Wing, but I also play 'the other game' known as Star Trek Attack Wing. In said game there are 8 William T. Riker cards....three are captains, five are crew upgrades. Some even have the same cost, the thing that changes is either skill, or abilities, or both. We simply state which version it is with little nicknames:
"William E. Riker" - USS Enterprise E Expansion - Add crew upgrade, disable this card to perform an action on crew, elite talent, or tech upgrade as a free action.
"Hathaway Riker" - USS Hathaway Expansion - When attacking a ship with a larger hull value, gain +1 attack dice, when defending against a ship with a larger hull value, gain +1 defense dice.
"Hood Riker" - USS Hood Expansion - When defending, Roll +1 defense dice, you may convert one battlestation result into evade. If your captain is disabled, when defending you roll +2 defense dice and may convert 2 battlestation results into evade results.
"Pegasus Riker" - USS Pegasus Expansion - Your captain skill is +3. If your captain becomes disabled or if you have no captain, your ships skill number is 5.
"Admiral Riker" - USS Pasteur Expansion - Action: Place a Scan token besides your ship. You may then perform 1 action from your action bar as a free action. You cannot perform the Scan action as a free action this round.
"Starter Riker" - Starter Set - Action: If you are attacked this round at Range 1, Roll 2 attack dice, Any Hit or Critical Result damages the attacking ship as normal, even if your ship is destroyed by their attack. The attacking ship does not roll any defense dice.
"Crazy Beard Riker" - Assimilation Target Prime Expansion - Each time you perform a Battlestations, Evade, or a Target Lock action. Place 1 additional token of the appropriate type on this card. During the activation phase, you may spend 1 token from this card and perform the corresponding Action as a free action.
"Klingon Riker" - IKS Pagh expansion - You do not pay a faction penalty when assigning this card to a Klingon Ship. Action: Disable this card to increase your captain skill to 10 until the end phase.
If someone is vague your opponent simply asks or inspects your cards and then goes "Oh, okay, that one." never ever had a problem in experience with people switching out cards to get an advantage despite the same name and cost in Attack Wing, now will we get it in X-Wing, maybe, but that is blatant cheating and would earn anyone a one way ticket to bansville.
