I think there is also a not insignificant group that actually like to collect the models.
HEROES OF THE RESISTANCE!
You sir, live in the wrong place! They have pretty good Xwing in Portland/Vancouver too. Even some NBA team...and this other team that plays a game with a ball and thier feet... Lots to love in Portland.
If you like beer/liquor or ice cream make it 15lbs and a long weekend.
The other half an I have threatened, on more than one occasion, to elope to Portland, gain 10lbs, and fly home again without telling anyone what happened. You just had to bring Donut holes into the mix!
Luckily here in Oregon we put Bacon on our doughnuts... Bacon Maple Bars from VooDoo... Mmm...
I'm a craft beer nerd, and she likes anything with rum in it. We both have a penchant for donuts and ice cream, and we're both alumni of the roller derby world (she plays, I used to coach). Portland is kind of our perfect spot...
Edit: Damnit, now I want donuts, and it's not even 5am...
Tell me about it... For now, I'll settle for a week or so there, a tour of the Rogue brewery, and a food-baby that challenges the carry-on restriction for the flight home.
Seems like a fun expansion to me, but of course I'm in this more for the enjoyment I suppose. I'm excited to see what else is in this.
I'm not so certain that the Smuggler's Compartments allow a second modification.
"You may...
Modifica...
costs...
squa..."
It might be something like:
"You may only equip this
Modification if the <Illicit> upgrade
costs less/more than X
squadron points"
It would actually make a fair amount of sense to restrict which Illicits are available to the Rebels, and it seems like people are really jumping to conclusions about the second modification part...
that alternate wording makes no sense, since you need to have the mod before you get the illicit
otherwise, you'll create a time paradox
The requirement could be something else, that was just the first thing I came up with.
An alternate possibility:
"You may only equip this
Modification on a ship that
costs more than X
squadron points"
Besides, considering the wording they chose for Tomax Bren, it really wouldn't surprise me if they chose something odd here, too! ![]()
Anyone done the arithmetic to see how the card count in this compares to other releases? Seems like a lot to me but haven't added them up yet.

Alternatively, maybe less than X squadron points??
A little life for ORS? Maybe?

More upgrades and and pilot cards than the Decimator and Hound's Tooth. Less than Most Wanted.
I half agree.
The thing is, they are adding Rey and Finn as crew. What good is that to a new player unless they already have the Falcon? So, they buy this pack with crew they can't use, and have to buy another pack to use them?
Many of us (myself included) are looking at it from the perspective of already owning a Falcon. This expansion is aimed directly at people who started the game with the TFA core. That's not to say there aren't awesome things in this for us too, but it's aimed at the huge lot of new people.
It's a win in the end. Picture a new guy in six month buying the TFA core, then he walks by and sees this. He's going to buy it too! This is a huge draw to new people.
More new people means more money for FFG which means more toys for us as well.
I honestly don't think it's being aimed at new players. I'll agree, it's not bad as a deal for new players, but two T70s in a box would arguably have been an even better deal, for both an existing player, and a new player. The cards for the Falcon being in that set then wouldn't preclude the purchase of a Falcon later, and it also wouldn't mean their existing player base end up with a redundant ship sitting in their collection. For a vast majority of players, this will be a second Falcon. For some, even a third. I just don't see the point of it.
Two T-70s? When people already have 2, and you can only play 4 in a squad if you run the Blue Sq. Novices? I think the new Millennium Falcon is a way better idea and I'm glad they chose that. Granted, it would be a good way to get people to start looking at Epic play because, "Hey, look how many T-70s you have! Want to put them all on the table at the same time? Of course you do; we all do!"
I don't see what the problem is with having two Millennium Falcons. I used to have two Millennium Falcon expansion packs, but a buddy was getting into the game when there was an expansion pack drought, and I never ended up using it as much as I thought I would, so I sold it to him. Now it seems like that choice was even better than I had anticipated.
I'm very excited for this. Good work, FFG!
Hey, could that upgrade be "Pre-Thrust"? Like, Advanced Sensors, but restricted to the Boost action? Maybe somebody already came up with that.

I live by the actual Rogue Headquarters out near the coast. About 2.5 hours from Portland...sadly. But local sales are nice: 8 1lt bottles of Rogue Whiskey Barrel Aged Double DeadGuy for $35 is insane.
My question is:
Obviously old Han, Chewie, Poe are still viable options (in that we can still fly them if we want). So how do we differentiate between them? I mean, Maarek is in 2 different ships so we can call him Dfndr Maarek or Adv Maarek .. But Han, Chewie and Poe are in the same ships.
Would Han and Chewie become OT Han and TFA Han and likewise for his furry companion?
So logically you would call them Rebel Han and Resistance Han, etc.
Also, this means that Han and Chewie having different abilities actually matches previously established precedent. Since alternate faction Boba Fett had a different ability as well.
Many of us (myself included) are looking at it from the perspective of already owning a Falcon. This expansion is aimed directly at people who started the game with the TFA core.
Edited by DarthEnderXWhen the next film comes out and they make another falcon box so they can make a "Rey Skywalker" card, that's when i'll be annoyed,
Thats basically why i refuse to buy ton of ships. So many people are willing to shell out the bucks for 3-5 expansions (even the bigger ones) just to get 1 ship with the "perfect" deck of cards attached. Theres a guy at my FLGS that has 6 A-Wings, 3 Falcons, 2 Ghosts, and a plethora of Scum ships he bought purely for the cards. The dude carries around a carrying case that rivals my 40k Tau box (which is about 4.5ft tall and holds 6000pts of models btw) and is packed with ships.
The only repeats i have in Xwing is TIE Fighters/TIEfos, TIE Intercepts (Axes box and 1 normal), and soon to be bomber/defender again because of a different box. I would love to get repeats of some others but i know better, FFG is bound to release more packs and i was **** right - i was about to buy a 2nd bomber, then the Vets showed up.
This game may be a lot better at the high-level tournament play than 40k is, but that doesnt mean its intended to be played that way. Fun > Ultimate Curbstomp list, and fun doesnt require a gakton of expansions of the same ship.
At the same time, the idea of fielding one of everything in all my squads is a bit silly IMO. I like to have the option to field multiples of whatever I want, or pairs at the very least. I already have five T-65 X Wings and I'm considering picking up another one so I can field a demi-squadron. And who doesn't want to field a full squadron of TIE Fighters?
Meh. I'll probably wind up buying one box for the cards and pilots. I'm more interested in the original trilogy stuff, but I realize the EU and new movies were inevitable. So far FFG has managed to make good game stuff out of the source material.
So, whatever.

Four T70s is still more useful than two Falcons. As you said, you never ended up using it as much as you thought. The same is true of anyone I know who bought a second one. Conversely, 4 Blue Novice, not actually that bad, especially as a starter list.
Anyway, I know I'm in the minority on this. I'm not trying to convince anyone I'm right, I just really did hope we'd avoid the multiple Falcon scenario. I said so a few months back, for the same reasons. It is what it is, though; an expansion for new players (nothing at all wrong with that), with some tasty upgrade cards for the rest of us.

You're a bad person... I used to pay in excess of $30 for 6 regular 330ml bottles of regular Dead Guy. I say "used to", because it's not even available here anymore. I'm in a long term drought of Rogue. I haven't been in mourning for a beer this much since Dogfish Head stopped exporting it's entire range.

Write out thrusters, then put the "Pr" above it like the card. If the word is centered, it should be five letters?
"Proto Thrusters"? Maybe adds evade action to action bar for small ships? I.E. kinda like a targeting computer
I'm good with this set, as long as Rebel Veterans is still out there! I'll probably pick one of these up. I'm glad I never tried a Poe repaint!
I know Brah! I just gor another TFA Core this week since there was a nice sale on them and such at Amazon. The reason was to finish my main force of TIE Fo-Fo's and to do my own POE Repaint... yipes!

I'm pretty sure the generic is going to prove to be useful this time around though for the YT, which will make double YT-1300 builds a lot better. What happened was when C3P0 came out, it made it really difficult to build a Lando+Chewie build that was an optimal YT build on both. Now with a properly priced generic in the mix, dual YT-1300s are primed to make a comeback.
Edited by KdubbSorry Dex... Gotta have some benefits to living in the middle of no-where without any real Xwing. Hope you find a tasty one soon and get a long trip in to Oregon. It's wonderful out here.

I live in the back end of Ireland. I know your pain only too well... Hopefully next year.
Am I missing something with the new generic pilot though? I didn't see it?

Well, considering there is only one generic YT in the new expansion, we will have to wait until someone buys 3 of them and they can go ahead and let us know. ![]()
And the generic is PS 3, and I think it is safe to assume that it will probably follow the same stat-line as the named pilots this time around considering what a disaster the ORS turned out to be.
Edited by KdubbIt's PS3 and is all but certain to be the millennium falcons stats this time round, which will leave it a plenty beefy ship.
Dunno why it's PS3, though. I guess they hate small ship generics? ![]()
