Lure of the Dark Side and Captured Leaders

By abb08, in Star Wars: Rebellion

Hello everyone,

I am hoping that someone can clear this up for me and my friends.

Is a leader who has been successfully converted with the, "Lure of the Dark Side" objective card considered to be captured when counted towards the objective for not having any captured leaders? Thanks!

Never thought of this one. I would have to say no they do NOT count as captured as they can NOT be rescued.

They do not. The ruleset specifically calls out Frozen in Carbonite as counting as captured. No such statement is made for Lure of the Darkside.

Page 8 of Rules Reference:

The Imperial card “Lure of the Dark Side” gives
the Imperial team control of a Rebel leader until the end of the
game. During the Refresh Phase, this leader is placed in the
Imperial leader pool matching the leader’s color.
This is no longer a captured leader, and is under the control of the Empire. Only captured leaders (which includes Frozen in Carbonite) can be rescued.
The yin to this card's yang is Return of the Jedi. While the Empire (more easily mind you) can capture leaders, the Rebels may be able to eliminate (remove from the game) certain Imperial leaders.
