I can confirm that he does not work for FFG in any overt manner. He could be a tester though.

You're right - while we may think we know him IRL as a school teacher, we don't really know him all that well. Maybe his teaching career is just something he tells us about, but in reality he has a covert existence as an FFG consultant. Maybe the reason that he is as good as he is is because he helped develop the game to begin with, and has a whole years' worth of experience behind him that we don't have.

I support the theory that shmitty has a hidden side that he keeps under wraps, and that he probbly wears a mask and cape when giving FFG direction on where to go next with Armada.

At least, it looked really nice till I did some of the math. With that 25% off I still paid $22.47 for another R&V set. But I chickened out of buying a X-wing FA core set at $60 or a new $75 ISD (I regret not buying that Fa set). And a burned out laptop, ugh... yeah I guess not the greatest May 4th on record for me. I did expect a bit more from FFG on the announcement front, but I'm not surprised it's something more for X-wing. Still, that set looks pretty decent even if I'm waiting for the Imp Vets.

X-wing purchases are smaller than Armada for the most part...plus more people play it...and there are more ships they can add versus Armada.

Honestly, I'd love it if FFG would give us a peak at "what they have planned".

Quite true. I also agree with Tirion that for him it is a good buy as it is new. However, none of those preclude that it had to be the ships that it is. Any new ships (not retreads or remakes) could do all the things that you put there AND be different.

I buy way more than I should, so I understand the plastic crack habit.

Additionally "variety of ships" these are not.

The art that came out on the 4th was spectacular...and I didn't get a chance to get any.... Sadface...
