I was mulling over the idea on how to Reintroduce the Falcon from TFA without making a standalone box. Basically, an Escape from Jakku expansion comes with the Rectangular Dish falcon with Rey/Finn pilot cards and crew cards, as well as 2 TIE/sfs. It could be sold as a core set with templates and a TFA crit deck.
I mean if you and a buddy goes halfsies on this and a TFA box you both get templates, dice, crit deck, rebel player gets a falcon and poe, and the imp player gets 2 tie/fos and 2 tie/sfs, which kitted to the teeth could be a comparable match up.
Idea: Escape from Jakku Box
Seems like a solid idea, IMO.
Despite the fact we don't need another core set, I like this idea. It could also include some special rules for a "Jakku Escape" style secnario where you fly the Falcon through the star destroyer boneyard... Basically introduce atmospheric battles to X-wing.
It doesn't necessarily need to be a core set I just thought it would be nice to include templates and such.
It could also work as like a "most wanted" type of set up, it expands on the TFA core without adding all the nicety. Could also be a good way to add additional pilots for other ships that aren't in the box (more rebel Y wing pilots or something like that)
I mean, it certainly wasn't being chased down by a pair of TIE/SFs but that is a REALLY good way to get the SF into the game.
Or, more TIE/FO pilots flat out.
I'm still waiting for my Battle of Yavin box. One side is the Death Star Trench run. The other side is the Yavin Base that had to be evacuated.
It's a cool idea, but I could see this forum complaining when they realize to get more than two TIE/SF that they would also need to get a bunch of extra Falcons.
That shoulda been the FO expansion And we should have gotten the Tie SF immediately instead haha
Imagine a 3 x 5 mat ( cheap, heroclix style ). With part of the.damaged deck of a crashed ISD printed on it. And some easy rules for coliding with the structure. Perhaps a deck with 20 cards of nasty criticals.
Ahhhh.
I wouldn't want to buy the falcon again just to get the tie cogs.
Even a Falcon with the rectangular dish? I know I would.
to be honest... I would ... just so I could run 2 YT-1300s
I'm still waiting for the Falcon With Ripped Off Dish Expansion Pack (based on RotJ).
I'd buy it, though I would like a separate TIE s/f as well.

Every now and again we get one of these Bright-Rookies ...

Glad everyone likes the idea.
This should've been the new core set, an escape from Jakku box sounds ten times better.

A lot of people didn't want to buy a raider to get the TIE Adv. fix.
A lot of people don't want to buy Wave 8 stuff to get Guidance Chips.
A lot of people don't want to buy a Starviper to get Autothrusters and Accuracy Correctors.
But this is how FFG runs their business. And one must be careful to voice any discontent, lest the mobs arrive with pitchforks and torches, chanting "Entitled! Entitled!"
At least a new Falcon would almost certainly include a Rey pilot card and Finn crew card, and hopefully a BB8 crew card and some scum pilots for the Falcon as well.
I own two YT-1300s... and I'd still buy this.

Perfectly fair point, I own a falcon but I've never flown it so getting a second one to gather dust would just irritate me is all.
I would prefer it if they did something like Kylos ship and some Tie/SF's and throw in the Falcon Pilots.
I wouldn't be happy having to buy another millennium falcon model, and I don't think that situation is entirely the same as other releases. They could always include a dish for people that want a "square" one as the one on the current mini just clips in.

im still waiting for the t-65 sunk in a swamp expansion.
the main problem is see with this is for those who don't cross faction like me. Heresy I know. But there is nothing to stop separate releases of TIE/sf with different aces.
Don't you have that problem with upgrade cards anyway?
The Falcon is still their best selling expansion, so a rectangular dish Falcon is something I could see them making.
Wouldn't be surprised if they made it mechanically a new ship with a different design so we'd buy it too. Actually, I hope they do do that. Never much liked the original Falcon design.
