Jesus christ it's been like 2 months since the last preview. Did you guys forget this game existed or something?
Hey FFG how about an update?
New preview is also on the boat.
Welcome to a new era of FFG. If you look at the upcoming page, the only thing in development except for LCG packs in the "current" series is the one thing they announced at the end of next week and I'll bet that's just in the queue at the printers. I suspect that all products are headed this way. Nothing has had a new product announcement in a while.
Has it really been two months? I guess so, or pretty close to it.
I'm really ready for more of a preview for the Rebel heroes, both for campaign and skirmish.
If you look at the way things went with twin shadows (which this has been pretty close to) we shouldn't get the first Bespin Preview for another couple of weeks (mid March->early June would imply early March->mid May).
Now, there was a wave of figure packs announced in between the announcement of Twin Shadows and its first preview (which is why this has seemed longer) but with respect to stuff actually about the individual product this is what we should be expecting.
Yeah, this is really a bummer. I'm always hoping for more consistent and standardized communication. I think they do a great job with this in Magic (with the exception of leaks) by having specific dates for product launches announced months in advance and then building previews for the month in advance. But this takes a lot of PR work and planning that might be beyond FFG's scale...?
Specifically, for Bespin previews: It could be that if they're going to hold it to Gen Con they don't want to start previews until closer to that launch. This is an unfortunate schedule if true though since it will be about 6 months without any new Imperial Assault products. Having 4 waves in 6 months last year was a flood and now we have a drought I guess...
I'm unsure about the lack of new announcements in general. Perhaps some of it relates to issues with Disney Approval for new Star Wars content (Rogue One related)? But that doesn't explain the drought across the board. We're also still waiting to hear about FFG Worlds details which was supposed to happen in April but was then pushed to late May. So maybe that speaks to more issues behind the scenes...?
Edited by nickv2002With May 4th two days away I have a feeling they are holding back on purpose.
Or I am giving them way to much credit.
New preview is also on boat.

I'm kinda nervous. I was hesitantly supportive at first of the merger but I'm not sure anymore. I keep thinking back to a video I saw where a guy talked about how he used to work for a game company until it was bought out by a large company which essentially shut down all existing projects for tax write offs, then closed the company. Turns out the CEO of Asmodee was the CFO of that same company, and would have been working in the part that dismantled the aforementioned game company. So perhaps it is nothing that we have these delays. I hope so. I hope they are just timing it right. After all, there's no reason I can think off to screw up the legacy of a company like FFG. But then...I would never buy a company and shut down its projects for very short term gain either.
Just look at how Hasbro gutted WotC--- big companies don't care about legacy.
Or they could just release that preview today.
They seem to listen. ![]()

Unfortunately it happens more than you'd like to know. And I'm talking million dollar companies getting bought out and this happening. It isn't often, but it happens enough that you wonder what was the point. But that's the way our business world can work with right offs and asset selling and such.

Well it seems someone is out to embarrass me :-)

*puts soap box on the ground and stands on it**rants about bad incentives created by convoluted tax systems* *yells something about a flat tax before being sedated and hauled off by a couple of burly nurses muttering about escapees*
