A lot of this ties into faith and religion. The US is a more religious country compared to most of Europe. Since Calvin and Luther centered sin (to some extent) as a product of sexuality the US, being a more religious country than Europe, tends to view bewbs as being bad as opposed to violence being bad.

You can see stuff really well, and is not at all like either the future-seeing powers. It's a bit closer to Seek, but doesn't have any overt combat applications.

It lets you ignore darkness and blindness for one round/minute at up to medium range. Regular range and duration upgrades. It has 6 control upgrades: one that lets you see microscopic details on an engaged object, one that lets you see through items, one that allows you to make out fine details on one or more objects in range, one that adds success/advantage to Perception or Vigilance checks, one that allows the user to see everything in a 360 degree radius, and a commit that increases Perception. Mastery upgrade allows you to see an area away from your position to anywhere in planetary close range.

Also, the duration works more like a range upgrade and is not a commit.

A couple of things I notice about this power:

1) There are no mechanical benefits given to being able to see fine or microscopic details on objects, nor to having 360-degree vision. It's left completely up to the GM, I guess, but there aren't even any suggestions, which I find somewhat lacking.

2) There's nothing to say that you can't activate the other effects of this power when using the Mastery, including range upgrades. Which means that, with enough Force Points at your disposal, you can effectively scry anywhere within Planetary Extreme range with 360-degree vision and see perfectly in any obfuscation. Now we know how Yoda was keeping an eye on Luke all that time...

3) Additionally, it's not mentioned whether other unique or Force-based sensory powers work through the Mastery upgrade. Can you use Sense to read someone's thoughts/emotions through it? I would assume so, but there's no definitive indication.

4) The Perception control upgrade is somewhat odd, because while in the tree it reads like it works like any other commit ability, the full description reads that it can only be used after a successful activation of Farsight. Why that's the case, I'm not sure.

Oh, and the snazzy names on the control upgrades for Farsight are not in the book; I've come up with names for every Control upgrade in all the Force power trees so it's easier to keep track of them.

The "non-starship weapon" could be referring to personal scale weapons mounted on speeders, swoops walkers etc.

Or it could be trying to say that hand held Gunnery weapons are out, either way it's odd. I would certainly be sticking to the simple blurb.

Farsight affects what the Force-user can perceive out to close range (planetary scale). Use of other powers in conjunction with this would be limited only by the Force-user's mastery of those other powers -- RAW Sense cannot extend beyond Long range (personal scale), so I'd say that you cannot use Sense on anyone you can Farsee with this power at planetary scale ranges. This is because you're seeing them with this power, not putting yourself in close enough proximity to sense them.

Sorry to quote myself, but this provides some interesting situations for people who know they're being watched, because sight can be deceived far easier than sensing can.

I'd allow PCs with Farsight to enhance Medicine or Mechanics checks as long as the action is relevant (ie performing surgery or rebuilding nanocomponents). And someone that is actively looking 360 degrees around them would give setback dice to any adversaries trying to sneak up on them.

4) The Perception control upgrade is somewhat odd, because while in the tree it reads like it works like any other commit ability, the full description reads that it can only be used after a successful activation of Farsight. Why that's the case, I'm not sure.

My long description reads: "Control Upgrade: This power gains the ongoing effect: Commit [Force Die]. The Force user's rank in the Perception skill by 1 (to a maximum of 5) each time this is performed." [sic] with the short description saying "This power gains the ongoing effect: Commit [Force Die] after successfully activating the Farsight power to increase ranks in Perception by 1." Seems there may have been a misprint in the long description clarifying things.

However, in response to the specification of activating after Farsight power has been used, that is because activating the power is an action and so is committing Force Dice. So, after the power is active, you can enhance your Perception as though using the Enhance power on it without having to use the Enhance power on it. You have to have at least one Duration upgrade to purchase this Control upgrade, allowing you to maintain your Farsight long enough to activate this power.

That's how it reads to me, anyway.
