I have just started playing the game and wrapping my head around some rules so please forgive me if this has been answered previously.

If I acquire a target lock (360) and find a ship in the zone I can assign a target lock to that ship which is fair enough, the problem I Have is during the attack phase I am unable to attack the ship as its out of my firing arc but I can attack another ship (which I do).

What should happened to the TL in the end phase?

Target Lock tokens do not get removed in the end phase.

They're removed if spent, forcibly removed by someone like Wes Janson, or if a new target lock is acquired (most ships can only maintain one target lock at a time).

Locks stay where they are until you perform another target lock action or that ship dies.

The other thing worth noting is that when you spend the target lock to fire ordinance or to make a reroll, it must be on the targeted ship, not another ship. I've seen players try to spend a lock they have on one ship to make a reroll on an attack on a different ship.
