Ships for Rebels?

By TwoFast2Catch, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

I currently have the Core Set and Rebel Fighter Squadrons pack. What other ships should I get to make a stronger rebel fleet?

Hi mate

I recommend definitely getting an Assault Frigate or 2.

Probably the most versatile and user friendly Rebel ships for newer players.

Also pick up a couple of Fighter Packs

If you can afford to just get one over every expansion, even the Corvette and the Neb as they have good cards in them that you can use.

As wedge says, its mainly a case of picking up one of each expansion and going from there. Annoyingly there are useful cards in the imperial expansions too.

Definitely start with the assault frigate.

You will find expansion contents listed here.

Both of you, thanks so much this was very helpful.

I agree with the others.

Here are a few thoughts on each unit:

1. Fighter packs: In terms of greatly expanding the scope of the game from the starter, virtually nothing competes with the Fighter packs. Definitely get one, two if you have the money.

2. Repeat contents from the starter: Nebulon-B/Corvette: I know it seems like you're getting the same ship again, but the contents of each pack differ from the starter, and both ships do well in a ship swarm. They're both really good and staples of many Rebel fleets. You're not making a mistake here.

3. For creating a different feel from the start, the Assault Frigate really does a great job. As the others suggest, it is pretty user-friendly, and also a staple in many fleets.

4. The MC30: For some reason, I just absolutely loved the concept before I really got into the game, so this was the one ship I really wanted to get and play. It is a bit less forgiving of maneuvering mistakes or poor build choices.

5. The MC80: I'd honestly wait a while on this one. When you've got two fighter packs and an Assault Frigate, the MC80 makes a good next step.
