Hello everyone.

I need some specific advice from you veterans out there. This is not the normal 'new person' thread so please bear with me whilst I explain.

In three weeks time my LFGS is holding a 100pts single allegiance list tournament. I'm looking forward to the event however I've not yet played a single game of X-Wing. I've spent a few days searching the internet, watching videos and reading posts for information. I'm also a long time gamer so I'm picking things up reasonably quickly. What I don't have, apart from models, is time to experiment with different lists. This is hopefully where you guys come in. If I can settle quickly on a list I still have some time to practice with it before the event.

I really want to play Vadar so I'm asking for tournament viable lists built around him. I've seen some builds ranging from ' vadar maarek and juno' which maybe just too intricate for a noob to pilot, a fluff list built around black squadron and a 7 ship TIE swarm which probably just has too many ships for me to pilot without crashing. I would appreciate your thoughts on a list that I could run and be reasonably competitive. Also if you could indicate which products some of the cards come from (if they are not in the ship blisters that I would need for the ships) that would be very helpful. It's obvious that I'll need Vadar himself plus a starter box so an idea of which of the two will provide more useful contents would be great. The good news is that some of the people at my FLGS have large collections so I may not have to buy it all dependent on what they are going to run.
