Talking about jamming field
While I doubt they "meant" to break all engagements in the field, it does based on the wording.

The card for contested outpost says it does not obstruct...
attacks
The station does not obstruct attacks
Looks like I missed that as well. . .

The station does not obstruct attacks
Which is why we're having this slightly silly conversion =)

Silly to Some.
RAW vs RAI to others.
Asking for Clarification is indeed Intent.
As you can see from some of my other posts lately, going straight on RAW can be... Silly.
But without Intent that's given from those who can give it, its all youv'e got - which can be silly.
Yes yes. Far too silly.
So I got a reply from FFG today. It seems like he's saying that squadron engagement is not obstructed by the station on Contested Outpost. But I also think he didn't really understand the question...
Rules Question:
The Contested Outpost card reads "The station does not obstruct attacks and does not have the ability to discard damage cards or recover hull points" It doesn't say that the the station would not provide obstruction for the purpose of squadron engagement. Is this a correct interpretation? Does the station still provide obstruction for the purpose of squadrons being engaged or not when playing the Contested Outpost objective?
If it does not obstruct line of sight (separate to obstructing attacks), then it does not stop engagement, as engagement is based on line of sight.
Right, I was just typing that. I still don't think he quite understood the question though, and I think it's going to be a whole new can of worms come Jamming Field.
There's a lot on the "Hoping for an FAQ" field come Wave 3 and Wave 4... Not much we can do with the things we've discussed to death as it is.
