I was at my local Barnes and Nobles and saw a flier that May the 4th at Barnes and Nobles they are doing a X-wing live Demos, I think this is a great way to intro people to X-wing and meet some more local people that want to play the game. (its on their main page on events)
Just a thought if anyone is looking for more people to play with.
That's pretty cool. I'm all for anything that gets more players interested in the game.

I have no idea. I think FFG had people fillout apps for comm reps last year maybe them, I would call your local place and ask. I really am excited to show up and see who also does so. ,
Any promo items there? Just curious because one of those is being hosted near me and I'm a swag hag.

Looks like ours is, here, south of Portland, Oregon - this ?might? be a chain-wide event?
(FWIW, I don't have the *foggiest* idea how they plan to have enough table space to do a demo - even the 'demo booth' that FFG put out with alt-art Poe Dameron cards would be a trick to fit in...and that only lets you play in a 2' x 2' area...)

I called my local store (Tukwila WA) earlier and asked about this. One of their managers is a big fan of the game, and will be running the demo. They also did not think there were any promo items available. I'll probably be stopping by there for a bit.

I ran the event at the store here in town (I volunteer my time to help with their events when I can) and we had 8 kids and a couple adults that I ran through demos. It was just a basic set up using the starter set and I didn't introduce all the rules, but everyone had a good time. There were supposed to be some coupons for the event for X-Wing merchandise, but I didn't see them.
ah ok. I just saw that the stores had 10% off cupons for core sets but nothing else. cool. just wondering if they had sweet promo cards or something.
My local had it advertised online to be happening. I showed up and there wasn't squat going on. So I headed out to my local game club and spent some money there.
My local store had 4 people, including myself show up. The emloyee running it has been playing the game for a few months, so he at least knew how to play. I did help out with explaining a few things. Everybody seemed to have a good time, and all bought core sets (B&N gave $10 off on these). No promos available and no sales on any expansions. I also promoted my local FLGS to everybody that was there.
