Descent second edition + expansions storage solution

By JTSleep, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

What program do you use for the 3D views? It might give me a better idea of how this is all supposed to fit together.

Made in inventor 2015, exported to AutoCAD 2015 3D model. You should be able to open it in any CAD program version 2015 and higher (even freeware ones), or you can download for free Autodesk View 2015 (or 2016), which is only viewer.

Wow! Amazing! I wanto do something similar

I found a very effective solution with a legal box, several boxes from the Michael's Arts and Crafts to fit my cards perfectly, and some basic totes to hold my figures. I'm in the process of painting the figures now, and have added vent magnets to ( http://tinyurl.com/hs44f87) the bottom of each model so they don't shift inside the tote. Simply glue the model to the magnet using superglue, and cut it out. The tote has a thin piece of sheet metal bolted down to the bottom. I find it a lot easier to find models this way when playing the game, and is far less expensive than buying the Battle Foam.

I originally thought of designing a similar setup like JTSleep's (which is cool as hell) but I'm worried about the collection outgrowing my design.

Great idea with magnetic foil. I might add it to insert after painting minis, thanks :)

I totally understand your fear of collection outgrowing storage solution. I made it only because I promised my gf that I buy only big and small expansions (which I already have). No Lt boxes and H&M collections for me :D

But it´s quite understandable considering collection of about 45 board games in our living room and few others expecting from kickstarter.

Please. I need the same info. The size of the box an with what did you glue evrything up with

Box is mentioned here (even with link):

I can not work with these files. How could I see the storage boxes and the sizes?

possibly solved over PM. Anyone else with similar issue?

Hi JT

Any chance you could give the dimension of the Tjena box you used please? The one in your pictures seems to be taller than the one I found. Plus, I don't suppose you have the plans/dimensions of the insert you made in any other format than DWG? :)

Cheers

Hi,

it is 32x35x32cm type . But in real, they measure it as outside of cover so real measures are bit smaller.

I suppose I can print it to pdfs, but if you download latest draftsight (free), you should be able to open it as well. Parts itself are not dimensioned in dwgs and you can´t measure in pdf.

As for the glue, I used Herkules. Totally ordinary glue for paper. Kind of white one that gets transparent when dry.

I would like to note that the box is TJENA, not TENJA as mentioned in the first post. :) It was little hard to find. I have though that it this box fits to KALLAX serie so I found it eventually. :)

Herkules is quite common glue at Czechia. I'm not sure about right translation of its description but it could be " dispersion adhesive (for wood )". It glues paper, wood, leather and textile very well. It could be diluted and cleaned by water. I think that any glue for paper or wood will serve fine.

@JTSleep : Thanks a lot for your idea!

edit: I forgot to ask for dice tower drawings. @JTSleep do you have it drawn? Nevermind, I've got it :)

Thanks for noticing it. I´ve corrected first post.

Don't know if it's been mentioned, but Bead Sorters are really good for Heroes, most of the Lieutenants, & smaller Monsters. One thing to point out though is that some of them need to be laid down & thus you might only be able to fit one figure.

Is there any chance, that someone still has that PDF with specs of that box? Link to google drive are not working anymore...

Hi guys, I accidentally managed to delete original files along with shared ones. If any one of you happen to have those files saved somewhere in their PC, I would be really glad if you could, please, send them to me. I still have 3D files, but I did those plans in program I don´t use anymore, so it is not ideal.

Thanks a lot.

By the way, that glue I used is PVA glue. Did not know proper English nomenclature before.

Edit: Reuploaded files added to first post.
