Sabine, Bombe mine - what goes first?

Here's the situation:

Under the Tiefigter base there's a clustermine token - not seen on this picture.

So how does it go when you, as a rebell-player have Sabine as crew? What triggers first?

As I interpret, Sabine might go first since she has the "may" rule. Probably use her when a mine/bomb detonates.

Then Seismic Charge (bomb) since it detonate at end of activation phase. Then the imperial player roll för Cluster mine.

In other words::

1st. Tiefighter lands on Rebells Clustermine.

2nd. Before bomb and mine detonate, Rebel player use Sabine and choose the Tiefighter, Tiefighter take 1 damage.

3rd. Seismic charge blows, Tiefighter take another damage. 2nd damage.

4th. Imperial player roll för cluster mine and get 1 hit and 1 blank result. Tie is hit and kill.

I'm pretty sure Sabine goes off between the bomb activating and it being removed, so your sequence wouldn't work.

What do you mean? This is what her card says: "Once per round, before a friendly bomb token is removed, choose 1 enemy ship at Range 1 of that token. That ship suffers 1 damage." Which bomb detonate first?

Card says before it's removed not before it's detonated. Bombs detonate at the end of the Activation Phase, mines trigger during the Activation Phase. Both are considered "Bombs".

1) Enemy runs over mine. Rolls for damage.

2) Sabine kicks in. Because you have 2 devices detonating I think she can wait for the bomb. Remove mine.

3) Activation Phase ends. Bomb detonates. Enemy takes damage.

4) Sabine kicks in. Note her abilities only work "once per round" so if you used her in #2, you couldn't use her here.

I believe it is still debated if you can wait for the second bomb to go off. Sabine is mandatory, so what happens if the first bomb goes of and you wait, then the second bomb detonates and there are no enemy ships at Range 1?

Otherwise Stoneface has the right order.

In any order you see fit... but only once per round.. So if say the enemy was hit by two mines at once ..After each mine is resolved you have the chance to add one damage..You pass on the first then something unexpected happens and you can't use it on the second one and you can't use it then that was your mistakes for holding back on the first chance to use it.

This scenario also depends on the ownership of the tokens in question. In the OP, the Seismic Charge isn't defined as 'friendly' or not, so in the event it was dropped by the Imperial player, then Sabine's effect would only apply to the Cluster Mine token and the Seismic Charge would detonate at the end of the Activation phase as normal.

But, if the Seismic Charge was dropped by the Rebel player, then... how Sabine plays out with the two tokens is still unsure. My personal feeling is you can choose which one to apply her to, but she's still restricted by her "once per round" text. There's nothing in her text that states it must be the first token that is about to be removed. There probably should've been a "you may..." included in there somewhere on her card, then it would have been a lot simpler.

It would have made it so much easier if they just added the word "may" in the text. Then it wouldn't matter which one you chose. As it stands with Sabine's ability as written, I would say that you trigger sabine's ability on the first bomb that detonates.

When Sabines timing window of 'before a friendly bomb token is removed' occurs, you have the OPTION (the word 'may') of triggering her effect.

You can only 'trigger the effect' of Sabine once per turn, but you may choose which bomb token you use her on.

When bombs detonate, you carry out all the steps of their effect, and THEN you remove the token.

Bomb detonates, then Bomb effects happen, then Sabine has the option of kicking in, then token is removed.

The problem is that Sabines text does not say 'may'.

It is a mandatory effect. So if you pass on the first bomb detonation and the second has no valid targets you neglected a mandatory effect.

Which means that to ensure you always fulfil Sabines effect it must be the first opportunity.

I hope that errata the card to have the word 'may' in the future.

Ok, my bad, it does not include the word 'may'.

However, It would specify 'the first bomb token to be removed' if you were explicitly required to use it on the first bomb.

It says 'before a friendly bomb token'. You can choose any bomb token on the board.

There is no guarantee that there is an enemy ship in Range of the first token to detonate. So it could be the second token to detonate that is the first opportunity for Sabine to trigger.
