How would you feel if FFG added ships from...

By Kdubb, in X-Wing

This?

They obviously have no issue pulling from content directed towards children with the Ghost as an example, but with the whole Lego aspect of this show, I think this would be a stretch. I'd probably be a bit put off if any ships in this series do not appear elsewhere and made there way in to the game.

Thoughts?

How long was it from when Rebels premiered vs when it made it to X-Wing?

This seems to be aimed at adults (and their kids) than rebels :D

And sure, why not if the ships are cool?

Not even the first full season had finished before 'Rebels' was worked into wave 8.

I thought you were going to troll people and say this.

Star-Wars-Episode-I-The-Phantom-Menace-1

:P ;)

I thought this was gonna be about the T-16 Skyhopper.

Oh dear. There are N-1 fighters all over that trailer.

Honestly?

Perfectly fine.

The show looks comedic and fun, LEGO is a fine franchise, and as long as FFG keeps up the fine job of stat-balancing that they've been doing then [more ships = more fun] as far as I'm concerned. ^_^

Is more ships ever a bad thing?

N-1 Fighters are flown during the late civil war time period. Leia flies them when defending Naboo from the Empire.

To be honest I 'd like to see ships from prequels rather than SW7 core box and expansions that I still refuse to buy + scum. It feels like very cheap rip off of the original core set with slightly modified ships and pilots named just after greek letters + ace for elites which feels incredibly cheap. I already have multiple core boxes so why should I buy another one?

So you're saying... You don't know Poe.

Pretty sure that show was said to be non canon. There is another Lego Star Wars show about r2 and c3po that was said to be non canon

So you're saying... You don't know Poe.

The only "named" pilot in whole box. The rest are just Aces, Veterans or Leaders of Blue/Zeta/Epsilon/Omega. Creative department should have been fired.

I worked on this show and have actually been thinking about making the Freemakers ship myself... Also When i fly Dengar, I can't help having Legos silly version in mind, I just boarded to much with him :)

I'm just going to guess from your post count that you may not have been following the discussions that unfolded around this very complaint last year. Basically, the understanding is that FFG had their hands tied on inventing new characters or spoiling the names of others. Furthermore, there have been some fun threads where TIE/fo uniques were given more meaningful call signs and nicknames, and T-70 pilots were speculated as certain pilots from the canon material released after the movie.

New Droid Tales on May 4.

Rebels for kids, Clone Wars for kids, Episode VI for kids....

Thank Goodness I am a kid.

You do know the majority of the world thinks you are acting like a kid playing a silly Kids game called X-Wing.

I am aware of discussion yet I still think they should have waited a bit. But greed to release it at the time the film aired to profit from increased sales was huge. So rather rushed and cheap looking product than neatly finished one which they leave as it is. It is hard to create new content while the source (SW7 film) came with nearly nothing new for X-Wing game. Armada and especially IA have still many possible expansions aheaded before they hit the limits of source (SW lore) but X-Wing has already depleated all OT sources but people are still buying so FFG tries hard and put every possible ship in from EU(now Legends) and new canon as soon as they can with spoiler problems and not all content revealed to them. I'd rather see new ships several months or even a year later than they first appear in films if there were no such spoiler problems.

And Admiral Ackbar flew a Jedi Starfighter in the Resistance Era. Lego Dosen't care.... :P

Waited ? Yeah that would have been stupid. Greed ? OMG companies want to make money. The Horror!

Plus I don't think they had a choice. Don't like the product fine don't buy it but I don't think you understand what you are talking about.

I hate the generic names as next as the next guy, but I don't think FFG was to blame here. From interviews that I've read/heard it was Disney pushing for a very aggressive marketing campaign and required the new core set out by a certain date. All accounts also point to FFG not knowing much at all about Ep VII when they were designing the set. Disney didn't want to share info, they didn't let FFG make up names, and they wanted the project done fast.

Let's just be happy for the awesome new things the TFA Core Set and expansions brought us. They made me enjoy flying X-wings and TIE fighters again.

/topic

I say make the ship.

I don't hate generics and feel they should have a place because that is how it is in the movies (and real life, not every pilot is a super star...looking at you POE who can take on several squadrons by himself).

The design team is working generics out of the system, they don't really care for them in anyway. The more they change the meta with EACH release the more product they will sell. Not saying that is bad, just a serious change of direction. They aren't super greedy either as they gave out alt cards of C3PO.....but....they have their direction that does not excite me. I really want more ships and generics to have a place.

As for other formats, I have not delved into Missions....am I missing something??? Love HotAC. Like to mix it up with Hunger Games (so many formats), a local Aces League (which I hated), and considering a draft league.

Is there a place or a pinned item that collects up all the different variations of the game? Really would like some more Epic FAQ love and additional formats from Organized Play. In essence, discussion of Ideas that work and does not work.

I thought this was gonna be about the T-16 Skyhopper.

Want! With a Snowspeeder and Bespin Cloud Car.

Also: a 1 wave spin-off with Battlestar Galactica ships.
