Any thoughts on handling languages?
Character creation doesn't mention it so I'm assuming everyone speaks Reikspiel, as it's not gonna be a lot of fun if a racially diverse party can't talk together, but say I'd like my tomb robbing character to be able to read the inscriptions on the elvish or dwarvish tombs then what do I do?
There is a speciality under education called Language SKills so I guess a Khazalid or Eltharin speciality could cover it, but can you even specialize if you don't have the skill and if you need education doesn't it make it very very rare for anyone to speak anything but Reikspiel (and make it hard to explain how Elves and Dwarves can speak Reikspiel). On the other hand I'd hate to have just anybody be able to learn languages as that doesn't seem right either.
I guess you could let Academic Careers buy languages as specialities for education and let everyone else buy a language for 2 advances but something official on the matter would be nice.
Suggestions?
