Someone (WWPDSteven) who podcast, should put out a new EP

By Cubanboy, in Star Wars: Armada

I am calling you out Steven..

Stop Playing X-wing and Rebellion and make it happen, its been 30 something days.

While we're complaining, I haven't seen WWPDSteven streaming on twitch in a couple weeks.

I demand entertainment!

Cuban, did you get a haircut? You look different. Greener.

Much less penguiny for sure

I want them to hold off for a week on a new ep until we see both releases. The reason is because I suspect that Rebels are going to get something to mitigate the Demolisher threat. One both are combined, will have something to really talk about long term.

Besides the new material ... I'm kinda surprised they haven't devoted a whole episode to vassal.

I don't think any of them really uses it very regularly. They've mentioned the Vassal Tourneys a couple of times, but not much else to talk about really, if they don't play on there themselves.

Vassal is a problem, because some people can wrap their head around vassal and some people just plain can't. I've tried multiple game systems, and I've never been able to figure out how to do it. I know BiggsIRL did something as a primer, but frankly if it were me Vassal would die and a more intuitive program would take its place.

Give him a break. :) He was streaming non-stop and I am sure he was burnt out and needed a break.

He took off the tuxedo.

I wanted to change it up a little bit. Yesterday I was looking through the stuff and saw this pic and thought it was fun.

I would like to use table top simulator(https://steamcommunity.com/app/286160) but it costs money and doesn't have a good Armada module at the moment

There is a primer...there are tutorial vids...its not really all that difficult.

If you devote a couple of hours to it...and are able to click/drag and right/click to bring up a menu...then you should be good.

On the other hand playing for real is much more exiting. Nothing can change that fact.

Seconded!!!

(Over privileged, entitled, white male voice) Where is my free entertainment?!?!? I've got a grocery trip to do and no podcast!!!

The program is a mess. It shouldn't take "a few hours" to learn how to do basic game actions. That it does proves my point.

Eh?

It's simple. Took me all of about 5 min to figure out. Now if you're new to Armada ok I can under why it might take a more effort after all you're having to learn the game too.

I disagree. Latest version is easy to learn. Like I said, if you can click drag and right click, you can play it. But like all things it requires motivation to learn. If it doesn't appeal to you, don't waste time on it.

There must be a new version, because the one I tried a few months ago was effectively unplayable without intimate knowledge of Vassal itself.

It takes a good 15-30 minutes to read the primer and familiarize yourself with the basic startup stuff, but its time well invested. Vassal is awesome.

I see DrunkTarkin online....

I hope someone makes an Armada like this, because once I found it I am been playing X-wing off and on now which is great.

hah! Thanks for the callout guys! We will likely do a new episode in a few days. I've had back-2-back-2-back travel. Two separate vacations, and a new client for work. I've spent as many nights in my own bed in April as I have in Hotels!

But even more exciting, my very good friend Miles has built me a game table to replace my rickety setup. Not that you Twitchers would no the difference- clever camera tricks and smoke and mirrors! So in my free nights I've been sanding and preparing to finish the table. I've been relegated to my smaller game table (I have a game table dedicated to card games in the game room) where Warhammer Quest has been the primary distraction.

Hoping to meet some of y'all at the NY Regionals!

The game table's maiden voyage pre-sanding and staining.

For extra fun, spot Chancellor87, R1H4, and prime opponent Sean in this picture!

Sorry to distract from the VASSAL chat!

My own $0.02 VASSAL is fine for those who aren't as fortunate as I am in terms of ability to game. I can play proper Armada a few times a week when I'm not slammed with travel, so I never really feel the need. Plus, as much as I love Armada... if I am going to play on my computer, it's probably going to be a proper computer game!

And by proper computer game, I mean I want to be screaming at Drunk Tarkin to intensify forward firepower in a game of Pulsar: Lost Colony.
