I understand your problem, but it's one you can get beyond. Pick a list you love for Regionals, and for every other lost you wanted to fly, use them for other events, in casual games, or wherever you can.

I've picked a list for Regionals (also about a month out), but since I can fly whatever I want whenever I want, it doesn't leave me any regrets. If I get my butt kicked and my ships wrecked, and lose every round, oh well. I'll learn something in the process and it's still a great chance to play a game that I love.
