My Journey is Almost Complete

After all of this time playing X-Wing and only occasionally dabbling in Imperials I am smitten.

I love the TAP and Carnor Jax.

They are awesome.

Soon my beloved Z-95's, both Rebel and Scum, will become but a dim and distant memory. No longer will I shout Death to the False Emperor when I take down a Palpmobile, I will openly weep at my betrayal.

It has 2/3 ships you already like and is pretty fun.

Looks as if it will be a good list to fly, I'll need to get TIE Advanced and the Title first though.

I found a list in the Regional Results thread that I've been playing on the Squad Benchmark site, so far it's been fantastic -

Soontir Fel: Title, PTL, AT, SD

Carnor Jax: Title, PTL, AT, SD

Inquisitor: Title, PTL, AT

Really looking forward to playing it for real.

I get where you're coming from.

My fine squad is:

VI Vader + title + ATC + VI + prockets

Inquisitor + title + PTL + prockets + autothrusters

Omega Leader + Juke + Comms

I find interceptors to be a bit short on hull, there are now too many effects that bypass green dice. Esp. Carnor I'd give hull or shield upgrade instead of SD, as he is for close flying and bumps stuff more often than you'd like. Also, Inquisitor + prockets is highly recommended.

Inquisitor is the perfect middle ground between Soontir and Vader. Does slightly more damage than the former, is slightly more resistant than the latter.

My primary faction will always be Rebels, but I'm going to enjoy the crap out of playing some defenders when my imp vets finally gets here. Having said that the TAP is a fun little ship to fly too. I try not to limit myself.

Agreed that the TAP (maybe the best dial in the game) and Jax are great. I'm thinking of trying this out at 100pts:

I'm not a fan of only three ships, so I downgraded from the Inquisitor and added Wampa, the later of which is also a great performer for me. I think it presents 4 targets that can all provide a threat in different ways.

Yeah, missed EU in the write-up.

I like Vader for his extra punch and not getting stressed via PTL, he is less predictable than interceptor aces.

Inquisitor is excellent with the 1 - greens, which makes him exceptional for dogfighting or staying at R3.

And I think OL may be underpriced. Juke + TL gives him the equivalent of a single automatic hit (at least) per shot unless your opponent has no evades, I find he does consistent damage just like Vader. And he's almost impossible to take down late game in 1v1 situations.

The fleet officer is a great underappreciated support card, and it allows not only your prockets to maneuver/tank on the approach, but gives Jax a life-saving focus when you think he might bump. You can park the lambda somewhere annoying for a few rounds too if you like, as baffle lets you chill and focus on the finer things in life, like 4.75 expected damage from those guided prockets. 1 point initiative for the bots, echos, vesserys etc.

Flew a similar list Wednesday vs Dengar and 2x G1-A.. OL with 3 HP faced of against a full health G1 and whupped him losing only one HP. Rarely do I fly imps, less than 2%, but I hear the Dark Side calling to me.

were starting a new X-wing league soon... I think i might bust out my imperials for this one. (and some first order.)

Generic TIE phantom is going to be rough until I make enough points for echo though...
