I am still hoping that we see two more ships in Q4, or early Q1 and thereafter see a pair of ships every 6 months or so. I would much rather this schedule moving forwards so remain optimistic.

Fleet Support has introduced a very nice way to provide Squadron Upgrades that had been asked for in the past. The Flotillas mess up with some parts of the metagame very nicely and provide some great fleet building ideas. I think we are moving closer to the ideal situation where what you take in your fleet is less important than how you play it. Which, if you are making comparisons to X-Wing isn't something FFG have found easy to achieve.

Right now players generally leaving their Nebulons and VSD's at home, so just having a quantity value to the number of ships does not change much what gets played. If there is something about the upgrade cards or ships in this release that provides a good reason to add these back into fleet builds then you could consider the wave a 4 ship wave of a sort. Even simple things like an Upgrade Card introduced can have a decently large effect of the various fleet build options and it does so in a mathematical progression that has far more impact as time goes on.

Small and frequent changes may in fact be far better for us that 1 big change every 12-18 months.

You had a chance to tell FF how you felt, but you and so many other where more concerned about the wraith of the fanboys. one of their ring leaders and most vocal bullies recently couldn't handle loss in regional ps (it is a game dude, seriously) and posted his inability to be good sportsmen instead handle it like grown man. Instead he posting on the main message board in front of everyone to get attention about his insecurities. These fan boys attempt to crush dissent because this game is all they got all the while making fun of those who have different opinions and can read between the lines and know Armada is dying. The forum moderators also allow the fanboys to talk about stuff completely off limits while banning those who make a far lees or mention of politics and other no no's allowed. They get away with whatever in the forums because the moderators are the friends of these guys.

You had FF's ear at one particular moment at the wave III release, but your belief in missing SKUs and other false hopes failed to let FF know thier actions were unexceptable. Now you all lost any new ships beside some stupid flotillas for a year to year and a half all because you called for FF's last track record. The writing was in the wall. When will you and the others still hoping for missing SKUs relent and revolt. They will let you down after crossing your fingers you have no recourse.

I am not being anything. Some leader who insults people right and left and has a meltdown and you think that doesn't deserve pointing out. The guy flaunts his opinions as truths and strikes his venom on people like a coiled viper. He get away with it because the moderators love fan boys. What he did was childish to the highest level and he gets a free pass because too many others are too afraid of the little clique he is apart of. When one of the clique's leaders does something so juvenile as to warrant a reprimand from the very person he goes to such great lengths to persecute, I find that not only fair and just...but long, long over due. We now know exactly the man you slings the insults at is no fan boys who don't goose step to his tune.

Having one of my three undergapraduate degrees in psychology, I am acutely aware of his motivations and desire to fit in like many on here. The traditions he espouses is that FF can do no wrong and anyone unwilling to follow their timeline of production release is not a true Armada player willing to discover all the nuances. I doesn't want nuances. I want new content. I am not attempting to maximize, but instead find fun in deploying neat new ships--and more importantly, new upgrades and admirals. I am frankly sick of seeing the same old same old X-17s, ECM, etc. Those fan boys who shot this view down with hatefully, bullying vengeance don't get the 6 year old kid glove treatment when they post a forum topic about crying over a loss. All I ever see you do here is berate people with your condescending, 'wake up sheeple!' comments. If you feel like Armada is dying and that anyone who doesn't recognise that is a fool, it begs the question: why the hell are you still here?

I'll be the first to admit that I reckon FFG could be doing more for Armada (locally I would love more direct support in Australia, but more importantly I want product support to the countries still waiting on it), but this analogy of the poor orphan game that's being left to die is a bit overblown. The game has been gaining popularity and building communities in lots of regions, and with the re-emergence of Star Wars films I'm pretty sure FFG understands how important games with that IP are.

A reasonable interpretation would be that it's having the same struggles most new games have, but as a whole the community has been growing and doing well. Sure as **** ain't dying (but carn tell me its because I think FFG can do no wrong).

Wave III is a smart release. The meta changes from those two small ships will be massive but fantastically the financial cost to players (unlike the jump to Wave II) will be low. I think that's far more important than the number of items in the release.

Plus, despite your assertions otherwise, tonnes of people have been saying to FFG 'hey man, what's the beef with just these two flotillas?'. I mean jesus that's what the boards were flooded with after the announcement and each preview. I'm pretty sure that a large enough portion of the community got the message out there.

And say what you will about Lyraeus (and as I recall a fair chunk of people in the thread have been calling on him to change his attitudes), but seems to me that you're a pretty big pot to call the kettle black here. You flaunt your opinions as truths (the game's dying), you spit venom at people (I recall you straight up telling Trizzo2 you always had him pegged as a chump player), yet you seem to still be here as well? I don't know man, like I said, all I ever see you do is complain about the game and the community, taking cracks at people and so on but then complaining that you've been martyred by FFG and the monolithic armada clique.

They had production issues...they had a game coming out with small transports that would be a ball park scale for armada..they saw a few things could be tweaked..and they threw it all together.

This wave shows me these guys care, and are nothing short of brilliant...they gave us so much with the best they could do.

Wow! Armada is dying? Seriously? In less than two years Armada has grown 3 times faster than where X-wing was at during the same time.

Our San Antonio community is thriving and it is exciting to see grow with new players joining us every week. The enthusiasm is so high that 16-18 of our player base is planning a 4.5hr road trip together for a regional event.

I for one think it was genius for the FFG to come out with just two expansions. Two expansion that will dramatically change the meta. Two expansions that provide boosts to both ships and squadrons.

Bottomline these two expansion will take the game from rock-paper-scissors to Rock-paper-scissors-lizard-Spock. I have never seen a game where just two expansion are coming out and will still have such a dramatic potential change on the way we play this game. It is absolutely genius on what the designers came up with, and at the same time easier on my pocket book as well.

Have you turned the spotlight of that triple-psych degree inward and explored why:

Also, (and this is the most important point), did you miss the part where Lyr (repeatedly) has told people that he has FVC K !N G ASPERGERS?!?!?!

Lyraeus has Aspergers, which can make social interaction and communication more challenging, but he remains a positive part of the Armada community, and is a contributor of ideas, fleet lists and tactics.

I am greatly enjoying Armada, and while Wave 3 is smaller than I had hoped I am really looking forward to the impact of the new ships and upgrades on the game.

I did report the few of his posts where he didn't specifically drop the name, but made it abundantly clear who he was singling out as a personal attack. Since it was, indeed, a personal attack, and against forum Rules.

And others created entire posts specifically targeting Nelson for personal insults. It would be difficult to place blame entirely on him in this regard. If it's true that he's been punished via reporting, I would hope that those who harassed him were equally reported and punished.
