Hi all,
Just a quick question on his well known ability.
When you flip a critical back down without resolving its ability, does that mean you also ignore standard criticals, which say that you get two damage instead of one?

Correct. Chewbacca pilot never pays any attention to the text on damage cards unless something flips them faceup AFTER he's been dealt them (most often R2D2 crew, occasionally Lt. Colzet or Rexler Brath).
Cards that were face down and get flipped face up by an effect after they're dealt remain face up and their text takes effect.
Note that crew Boba Fett's ability would still trigger for pilot Chewbacca because a face-up damage card was still dealt, even if it was then immediately flipped face-down.
Quite the powerful ability!
Thanks everybody for answering, I was thinking that only the two damage crits should go through but seemingly not.
It's also worth noting that if you put Determination on Chewbacca you can still discard the Pilot crits (when they would be dealt faceup, not if dealt facedown and flipped by an ability)..
Quite the powerful ability!

THink about it: if you randomly assigned a Direct Hit face down because of a non-critical damage hitting hull, would it be 2 damage then?
No.
Chewie does almost exactly that.
Quite the powerful ability!

When Chewie is dealt a face-up card he simply turns it over and then resolves it normally. The "two damage crits" known as Direct Hits only count as two damage if they are face-up; they do NOT cause a second damage card to be dealt.
Now he was dealt a face-up card if that matters so Boba Fett crew can still come and take something.
