When you are cloaked you get plus 2 evade dice,so that would give me 4 dice.if I have a cloaking device upgrade card will that give me another evade die,for 5 evade dice scene it doesn't actually give my cloaking

Stealth Device, I presume is what you mean, since Cloaking Device is a Scum Illicit slot upgrade.

And yes, if you are Cloaked and have a Stealth Device that gives you 5 defence dice.

Yes that's right, but it's called stealth device not cloaking device.

If you put Stealth Device on a Phantom you'd have 3 agility when not cloaked and 5 when cloaked.

most people put Advanced Cloaking Device on Phantoms so they can recloak for free, or the Stygium Particle Accelerator on so they get a free evade.

Yeah. Running a high PS Phantom without ACD makes it die. Running a low PS phantom without SPA is more likely, but SPA is a very good upgrade for its points.

Plus, Stealth Device is generally considered a poor option on a ship with 2 agility since it's so easy to strip it off.

But on a phantom... it's interesting to consider. Since at 5 agility you'd be nearly impossible to hit... But I think if you're worried about being hit when decloaked like on a low PS Phantom, the SPA is a better choice. An evade token is almost always going to be better than a die. The only case it wouldn't be is if you were getting shot at more than once, and even then I don't think Stealth Device would help more than once.

5 AGI isn't nearly impossible to hit. It's difficult, but nowhere near impossible.

You need to back it up with tokens to get to that sort of level.

If only the tie Phantom could equip two like the interceptor
