Finally got myself the Lambda and I'm trying to come up with something unpleasant. I know its an old idea but still looking for feedback on who Vader should take on his ride along.

This is my unplayed list -

Lambda Shuttle - Omnicron group pilot, Darth Vader + Rebel captive = 27 pts

3 x Tie Interceptor - Sabre squad pilots, Crack shot + Auto thrusters = 24 pts each

The plan is to fly them all close together, with the shuttle hanging at the back, target the biggest threat first. Should be able to cripple most ships in a single round of shooting and then Vader does his "I have you now" thing.

Biggest worry is those pilot skill 4 Interceptors, I just love the 3 dice and crack shot though

I like it, but I think it will die quickly...

Rebel captive seems so weak now. Having that shuttle with just Vader makes him a deadly, but cheap 24 pts. Add on fire control for 2 pts or electronic baffle for 1 pt. The latter will make it more slick. If you really must, try fleet officer instead.

Maybe replace Rebel Captive with EU? Or even Sensor Jammer, I know its not popular I just think it may stretch out the shuttles life a little before it goes bang

Or upgrade the Sabers to Royal Guard pilots. Just a thought, don't know the meta well enough to tell how much difference a jump from PS 4 to 6 will make.

Rebel captive seems so weak now.

It's probably not at its best on the shuttle in this build, but in general Rebel Captive is in a better spot than its been for a while. Imperial aces still hate it, and provided you come at them from their right it drives U-boats to distraction.

Would replacing RC with Mara Jade in this list make more sense?

I ask because I am actually working on a similar list, but using Fell and Jax as escorts for the shuttle.

I thought about Mara but just think that RC will make those damned aces think twice about pummelling the shuttle early game. And the less damage it takes the more Vader can hit it up to crit those same damned aces.

Guess it comes down to flying the list and seeing what those last few points should be spent on

So I finally flew my list and it did well. The shuttle died quickly, so quickly that Vader only Vaderer once but that once did kill one of my opponents two aces so not too bad.

I ended up with one damaged Interceptor and one on full health. Crack shot on three ships, all rolling at least three dice is hard to stand up against.

I think this is a good list that can deal out a lot of concentrated damage and force that damage through thanks to Vader and crack shot. My opponent had three scum interceptors all with stealth devices and three natural evade dice. Even so each of them was popped by a crack shot from one of my Interceptors taking out the stealth device in the first couple rounds of combat.

Having said this, I would really like to try teaming the shuttle, plus Vader and maybe Engine Upgrade, with three Tie/fo's. Not because I think they will work better than the Interceptors but because I just think that three Tie's escorting a Shuttle would look really cool. With this in mind I came up with this list-

Omnicron group pilot + Darth Vader + Engine upgrade = 28pts

Omega Leader + Com relay + Juke + Twin ion engine mk II = 27pts

Omega Ace + Com relay + Push the limit + Twin ion engine mkII = 27pts

Epsilon pilot + Com relay = 18pts

Any chance of pulling off a win?

best way to fly the doomshuttle first is to do it with aces. the space cow can be a pain to fly and takes a while to get used to it and flying aces that you are comfortable with will really help you during the transition to flying the space cow
