An Imperial take on Heaver

By BleakSquadron, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Like the topic says this is a list idea formed with Heaver's most recent Worlds in mind. It became possible recently due to Imperial veterans and the (I believe to be) ubiquitous deathfire. First, the list:

Soontir Fel 27

-ptl 3

-title 0

-autothrusters 2

-targeting computer 2

Deathfire 17

-conner net 4

-extra munitions 2

Ogp 21

-emperor palpatine 8

Wampa 14

Now, how is any of this like heaver's list? Subject 1, an excellent ace. While not at ps 10 like heaver's poe, I think we can all agree that soontir fel pulls much more than his weight in typical games. In many scenarios he will also be arguably tougher than poe. Subject 2 an excellent control element. Deathfire isn't a stress hog, but when his conner nets land, I'd argue on those turns he's better. He's limited to in arc fire when he's out of mines, so be sure to make em count. The next piece is well.. Arguably not related to heaver's list at all but, in place of the tlt y, we have a palp shuttle. I know that those two pieces perform wildly differently but hear me out. The third slot in heaver's list wasn't just a tlt, at the time it was a strong meta ship, and seeing as to there being no turret carrying Imperial ships, a palp shuttle is our strong meta piece. I'll admit that my logic could be reaching a bit there but it is what it is. The last piece of heaver's list was filler. A z-95 (gasp). Here is where the empire can do one better though. Wampa (alternatively an academy and a 2 point bid for fel). Wampa can be so much more than filler, he can be a little monster with palpatine support, an Imperial bigs at times.. Just a good ship all around. I'm certain that there's flaws to this list, and right now it's all theory craft. I think as it goes though, this is an excellent imperial tool box list and in the right hands I bet it could perform exceptionally.

However, this is why I'm posting it. Community, lets disect and test this. Let's get it as strong as possible. Let me know your thoughts.

You know The Heave flew his own version of Palp Aces at the Roanoke Debacle, right?

You know The Heave flew his own a very common, very well known, very good version of Palp Aces at the Roanoke Debacle, right?
