Seeker - Hunter Synergy with others?

By Avalon2099, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

I am playing a Seeker - Hunter, went into Misdirection and Seek Force trees, what other specializations would synergize well with the Hunter.

My stats are 2/5/2/3/2/1, using a Heavy Blaster Rifle with Flame Thrower and Weapon Brace mods.

I am considering, Pathfinder as it seems close, any other choices people would choose?

Pathfinder is a good one as you mentioned.

Seer is awesome, especially that FR 4 with intuitive shot, it makes hitting and critting a forgone conclusion... Although with Agility 5 you kind of have that covered.

Personally I would wait for the Seeker book to drop in a month or so, I suspect many synergies there.

Shadow could be good, to build on the stealth and cunning side of your character.

The entire right side of Wareleader is brilliant for a force sensitive shooter, especially Prophetic Aim and who doesn't like Swift.

For non FaD careers anything with true aim is good, then there's Scout and Big Game Hunter, both full of synergy. Thief is a good one too, with that agility and cunning you have. Beast Rider is also a good one for you.

Finally there's the trees that are completely different but provide breadth to your character:

Starfighter Ace, Ataru and Advisor (focusing on deception) from FaD

Non Force specs that focus on Piloting, Deception and Stealth will all work well, like scoundrel or any of the ace careers.

So basically half the careers to date! I guess it all depends on your concept of your character, the Moral choices it makes and weather you want to focus or broaden your skills.

Maybe a bit unorthodox, but I like Force Sensitive Exile and Emergent for extra enhanced senses (Uncanny Senses and Reactions) as well as a fairly quick route to more Dedication and Force Rating. No extra career skills, but both trees have goodies to make up for it. Touch of Fate is a personal favorite, especially stacked with Intense Focus.

About the Seeker hunter i have one question why there is the ranged (heavy) twice as career skill? Does it give something or is it a bug?

Executioner is a good choice for improving your combat abilities.

Hermit gives you a companion, shroud, and some very nice wilderness talents (+2 Force Rating as well)

I think a lot of new players underestimate the usefulness of the Force-Sensitive specs (Exile and Emergent). They have a bunch of unique and useful Force talents.

If your character is living up to the title Hunter, then the Executioner from Savage Spirits will be very useful to you. At least 4 unique talents in that tree have "Kill" or "Death" in their names, and 3 ranks in Lethal Blows means those inevitable crits you'll get will be even worse.

This means if the skill is on both lists you can get to rank 2 , if its only on one list you can only get to rank 2 if you have the skill as a free rank from your species. Otherwise you have to spend 10 of your starting xp to get a rank 1 skill to rank 2.

So let's say you are a red nikto guardian warden (free resilience rank), you can get resilience 2/ brawl 2/ discipline 2 before spending xp adding 3 single ranks costs further 15 xp so you now have 3 rank 1 skills, and 3 rank 2 skills.

If I instead take 6 single rank skills and upgrade 3 to rank 2 it costs 30xp. So the first option saves you 15 of your starting xp.

I think all 3 of the new Specialisations from Savage Spirits have good synergy with the Hunter:

Executioner if you want to kill everything

Hermit if you want to be tougher in the wilderness and have a useful companion, not to mention FR 4 for your Intuitive Shot talent.

Navigator is great if you want to get places as well as fight, the Swift talent is great too.

Just depends on the character you want to play
