There are plenty of old articles out there to read from the early days of X-wing, but this one was pretty entertaining for some reason. I stumbled upon it while trying to find a quality image of the Outer Rim Smuggler that I could post on the forums (heads up- it doesn't exist). Maybe I loved it so much because I know I totally would have been that guy to run that Jan Ors + Expose Wedge build and thought it was the next big thing. Or maybe I enjoyed it because R2-F2 is on Biggs in one of the proposed squads. Or maybe it was simply a fun read because nearly everything mentioned would be an awful choice competitively nowadays. Interesting how the game evolves.

It was a gentler time, before TLTs, Contracted Scouts, and intentional draws made us hate each other.

I started in Summer 2014. This was a pretty cool read. I didn't realize how close wave 3 was to World's.

Classic troll list

Strange to see how hopeful people were before the Phantom Menace and PWT pancakes ruined the game for a few waves.

One of the first articles I had read when starting into this game. Doug is awesome and has been for years!

Believe it or not but ORS used to see some play. There was a fun old list called Rebel convoy that used two of them along with two Ion Y's. It was a major chore to kill it with its 36 hits.

Doug was actually onto a few things, rebel convoy made the top cut at worlds that year and b wings with advanced sensors won the whole thing.
