If you could ban one card and make one card unique...

By The_Brown_Bomber, in X-Wing

. Making it unique only slighly fixes the Jumpmasters, but you'll still get alpha striked by them whether they have deadeyes or not.

I do agree, nothing needs banning/unique.

Not true. In the absence of deadeye the scouts can't fire their torpedoes at range three initial contact, which gives you two full turns of fire in which to ps kill one.

Maybe don't joust the bastards then? If you fly straight at a Wolfpack, you deserve every torp coming your way...

That sounds pretty subjective, doc.

Deadeye is fine, you need it to make munitions work on many ships. If any, the R4 Agromech should have been unique, those two in combination+guidance chips that gives the torp boat spike damage. The R4 Agromech is not really needed in multiples in any other lists.

Main reason I'd like PtL to just not exist is that action economy is always too good in any game (3.5 is a particularly disastrous example)... VI just because the PS race is bloody stupid and it would be better to have other talents used.

Deadeye needs to stay where it is. Uboats are working exactly as intended as far as I can tell, and the other ships that find Deadeye useful sure as hell need it to stay available.

Well, don't joust into range 3. Rule of 11, people. ;)

Not really. If you joust a Wolfpack, you're asking to be demolished (and I speak from experience; won't be doing that again). It's a simple fact of how many dice they can throw at you with the number of modifications they can apply. Chances are you'll end up on the receiving end of three volleys of 3-4 hits/crits. The smart play is not to joust all three at once. Flank them, attempt to break them up through obstacles, block, etc.

This does rather depend on what you yourself are flying, those jump masters are pretty manoeuvrable for a large based ship. There are a fair few ships out there who will struggle to dance around them to wait for an opening. It's early days but the contract scout certainly seems a little under costed. I have to say that giving them EPTs was the killer, without deadeye they aren't nearly as frightening.

What card would you like to ban?

Twin Laser Turret

What card would you like to make unique?

Deadeye

I would ban Push the Limit and make VI unique.

Background-wise Deadeye should be unique.

Because its the moment Obi Wan tells Luke to trust the force.

I can't imagine an Obi Wan telling this to 3 non-force sesitive Contracted Scouts simultaniusly as long as they have Torpedos left ...

But then, its only an upgrade card for the game.

Its ok like it is.

I would ban Push the Limit and make VI unique.

You dislike Interceptors and Phantoms, I guess?

I'm with the "I wouldn't change anything" camp. The game is in a really good state at the moment, with no really problematic upgrades that haven't already been tackled. In particular, making Deadeye unique would potentially cause problems for squads other than Contracted Scouts - I'm willing to bet there's more than a few Imperial players looking forward to Gamma Squadron Veterans for precisely this reason...

Ban Munition Failsafe

Unique Expose

... Yeah that'll do

... and ban Fel's Wrath ... and make generic Scyks unique .... and make Daredevil unique ... and X-Wing will be the best game in the galaxy.

Deadeye was conceived as pretty much DOA until scouts, and only used in fringe cases/builds. Totally overkill making it unique.

Likwise R4 Agromech by itself is not very powerful, it is a kind of FCS. If you want to ban it or make it unique, stuff like FCS should be unique, too.

The overflow of PTL I do not like, here a "unique" could be a thing.

EU on large bases is stupidly fast, would like to have it small base only.

Ban Expert Handling.

No one uses it anyways.

Barrel rolling Hwks are an existing and quite funny hilarity!

Barrel rolling Bossk would like a word with you. As would a particular Tycho build.

I'm struggling to think of anything I'd ban. Maybe Emperor Palpatine.

For uniqueness I think I would probably choose Push The Limit. Even though it's rare to find multiple copies in lists I think they do make for frustrating experiences in those occasions you have to play against them.

Glad to hear it's seeing use! Barrel rolling HWKs and Bossk sounds fun.

I actually quite like Expert Handling and use it on quite a few big ships. It tends to get cut when I try to make the list competitive (Predator/VI almost always too good to ignore) but I get some use from it.

Ever tried to fly IGs with Advanced Sensors and Expert Handling?

Its fun!

The funny part is, if Scouts are gone, welcome back TLT meta.

Ban PTL. simple.

because it's the MOST overused EPT ever.

Ban Ion Cannon and make Ion Turret unique. Or the other way around, that mechanic needs to die in a fire.

Ban Imperial Boba. Never should have existed in the first place.
