Chihuahua Squad, but any experience with Pitbull Squad?

So, crack shot is a thing in generic lists because it breaks through evade armor. Has anyone run a 5 Gold Squadron with Autoblaster Turrets? I'd like to hear if so.

I've run some scenarios on benchmark. While the AI is crude, I've seen some promising results from maneuver planning and casting the net of autoblasters. It seems the toughest matchup would be a Dash build followed by Brobots.

The low PS combined with the range 1 limitation is the real kicker here... granted with five of them you can get a pretty good area of coverage but I don't think its enough.

It's called Thug Life...

I ran 5x Gold w/autoblaster turrets in a tournament a few months back. Went 2-2. It's tough, good at blocking big ships, and devastating at range 1. I killed a Fat Han, tore up a mixed scum list, and got a Dash down to 1 hull before he ran away and beat me on time.

It's one of those specialist lists. Good at what it does, deficient in other areas. But hey, I love Y-wings. (This past Sunday I went 2-2 with a turretless 4x Gold w/Plasma Torpedoes + Targeting Astromech list)

you could run 4 BTL Y-wing with Engine Upgrade and Dorsal turret.

That's 2 3-dice attacks at range 1.

Or keep them with autoblasters and use an Astromech.

BTL Dorsal Unhinged x4, sprinkle in some bombs for fun (4 detonators, seismic/ion with aggromechs, a few Connor nets, ect.)

Y-wings are just too much fun for a ship that has always played second fiddle to everything in the EU. Glad they are still strong, and in two factions. Need some Imperial grey/blue BTL-Bs now.

I would think you would want to mix up the list a little. Maybe 2 TLT's and 2 Autoblasters. Or maybe 4 Y-wings, but with Torpedoes. The problem that I see with lists that all have one thing is that it not just mix-maxes the positives, but it does the same with the negatives. So, your weakness is compounded in the same way your strength is. It becomes a bit of a rock/paper/scissors type thing.

What I've found is that a balanced list with different tools is the best approach. It might take some practice to figure out how to win vs. certain lists, but it's the type of list that can win against all comers.
