Flame of the West, New Saga

By Supertoe, in The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game

I am not sure which answer i prefer.

If Prince Imrahil is included, wow so powerfull ...

If not, hopefully because it's broken ...

Yeah, it will be incredibly strong if it works (probably too powerful as you say). I do love Caldara though :D

I know, you love it !

And i like it so much too.

I have done some test yesterday with this new ally. I have choosen to take the worst answer.

I have beaten Battle of Carn Dum (first try) and Into Inthilien NM (second try) Solo.

I am thinking about a deck with Beorn and Prince Imrahil ally.

When Beorn is destroyed, Prince Imrahil become a hero and give more spirit resources for Fortune and Fate.

I sent in the question as well but haven't heard anything back yet.

How would the ally Prince Imrahil interact with either of his hero versions in campaign mode (especially since the ally version is being released in a saga box)? Let's say hero Prince Imrahil dies (or better yet gets discarded, say, to take down the Balrog) but you're able to play his ally version before the end of the game. At the end of the game, hero Prince Imrahil is in your discard pile, but there is technically a hero Prince Imrahil in play because of the ally's ability. Does he get added to your list of fallen heroes, or do you get to use his hero version again in future quests?

If a hero is in a player’s discard pile at the end of the game, that hero’s name is added to the list of Fallen Heroes in the Campaign Log. A hero whose name appears on the list of Fallen Heroes cannot be used by any player when playing future scenarios in that campaign.

It looks like he gets added to your fallen heroes list and you can no longer use him.

Hopefully, there's mention of the Imrahil Paradox in the FotW insert.

Caldara+Ally Imrahil, Livery of the Tower... awesome stuff!

If Imrahil ally (being a hero for a change) dies, I believe, he immediately becomes ally again, just as he leaves play, and thus is not counted among fallen heroes.

Sure, but that wasn't the question, if I am not mistaken. Problem is: If you use HERO Imrahil and he dies but you Play ALLY imrahil who stays alive till the of the quest (as a hero) is imrahil considered a fallen hero or not (as he is alive and dead)? As the rules state any hero is considered fallen, who is in a discard pile at the end of the game, so it should be save to say, that imrahil would be added to the list.

You could justify it as saying that he took a fatal wound but, like Boromir in the books, was able to continue to fight a little while before he succumbed to his wounds. Thus, he continues to help you until the end of the current game, but he's unavailable for the rest of the campaign as he died heroically helping complete the previous quest.

If I lose a named character I'm not using him or her again in any form unless it's Beyond All Hope.

Same philosophy here. That's what will happen in my campaign if I have to sacrifice a hero to the Balrog and that hero is really important for the deck. And the worst thing is that those other boons are so cool.

Oh, I am sorry, I did not read carefully...

Come on, the rest of the spoilers? It has been a week now, right?

The rest will be revealed at GenCon, I'm sure.

Don't be. It's shipping since last week, so someone should have it any day now.

If I get it at Gen Con, I will take pics.

I can't wait for it to come out in my country so I just bought a copy off someone on ebay and should get it Monday.
Even though all cards are spoiled now I will provide my experiences if others haven't already done so by then!

Going to have to start the campaign from the start for the millionth time this weekend so I can get back up to this new box.

Did you overpaid much?

Eh sort of, honestly it really wasn't too bad and the majority of the extra cost was actually me getting express post instead of regular so I can get it quickly..... :P

my copy was waiting when i got home last night...didnt have time to play yesterday, but tonights looking promising! Now just to decide on a deck for Tactics Eowyn.

If I lose a named character I'm not using him or her again in any form unless it's Beyond All Hope.

How much guys do you have in the fallen allies list? 30?

These higher prices really suck :\ It is six dollars more than what the saga expansions were priced in the past. Maybe there are significantly more cards in this particular expansion or is the entire increase attributable to Asmodee?
