Another SC performance using a PalpAce variant list

So a week after getting into the top 3 for the first time, (batrep here: https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/217933-first-time-in-the-top-three/)
and with an incredible 10-1 record with this last version of the list, I decided to go to another Store Championship. This would be a bigger one (18 players), and some of the local champs were attending, so it sure seemed like a much bigger challenge!

A reminder of my list:

The Inquisitor, PTL, Tie/v1, AT
Wampa
Lt. Colzet, Tie/x1, AC
OGP, Palpatine, E.Baffle, IonP.

Rd1: BBB(FCS/flechette torps)ZZ

My opponent had all the acrylic stuff, and seemed very experienced, and I didn't like facing his list at all. Too many red dice, and lots of HP to chew through...
He had been playing for years, and he eventually ended up in 2nd place.

My idea was to kill the Zs first, as they were the "easier" targets and try to focus fire on the Bs later.

I baited him with my Inq, and it kinda worked, as one of his Bs broke formation to go after him, but a failed blocking attempt from my Shuttle and a bad movement from wampa left me in a really bad position, and he killed wampa easily.

The shuttle also disappeared soon after, while I had only "slightly" damaged 2 different Bs. After that, I started to shake off the pressure and played better. I even surprised my opponent with a few unexpected moves, but when time was called, even though both the Inq and Colzet were alive, I had only managed to kill one Z, and left one B on 1 hull, and another one on 2 hull.

Result: Lost 12-46

Rd2: Dengar (PTL, gonk, R5P8, Title) & Zuckuss (VI, gunner and over 10p worth of other upgrades)

I split my inquisitor from the other 3 ships, but he didn't fall for it, and set up right across from my 3 ships. Turn one he rushed forward but was just a hair short of R3, even boosting. Turn 2 it all looked like this: (only pic taken in the whole tourney sorry guys).

I went all in for Zuckuss, and he went all in for wampa. He killed wampa even though I used Palpatine, but he had to use both ships to do so, and in return, I poured all shots on Zuckuss, who was left standing on 2 hull. Next turn Zuckuss avoided my block and got out of everyone's arc, but Dengar bumped the shuttle, so I shot him with Inq and Colzet, getting some damage through. Next turn Dengar avoided my bump, and started damaging the shuttle, but I caught Zuckuss with both Colzet and Inq, and killed it. After that, it was much easier dealing with one ship, and I was able to get out of his arc so no "punishment" for me. Time was called and though Colzet was shield-less, and I almost gave away half points on the shuttle, I had only lost wampa , while He had lost Zuckuss and half points on Dengar, who was left with 2-3 hull.

Result: Win 75-14

Rd 3: OL (Juke, Comms, SD), Vader (Adap, EU, Tie/x1, ATC), Col. Jendon (RecSpec, AS, Title).

My opponent was a young kid I had played (and lost) twice already in two of my previous tournaments (this was my 7th tournament ever), so I wanted some revenge! I knew his list pretty well, as I had played Jendon before my final list was born, and though it looked solid (and it IS), it lacks Palpatine!
He went very aggressive in the first two turns with all his ships, and caught me a bit off guard, so I struggled to save Wampa, and even though I used Palpatine, he was hit hard and stayed on 1 hull, while I only plinked Vader's shields in return. Not a good start at all.
The following turns I blocked his shuttle with mine twice, but couldn't roll a hit/crit for the IonP... I flew away with wampa to come back when it was safer, and my opponent stressed vader flying through debris to avoid my shuttle. I got really lucky here as he rolled a crit, which turned out a direct hit! The Inq then put the nail in Vader's coffin. Next turn he tried to finish wampa, so OL shot, and I had to use Palp and the evade token to stay alive. Jendon then got 3 hits on Wampa, and I had another lucky moment, where I rolled 3 out of 3 natural evades! Those were Jendon's last shots, as both Inq and Colzet finished him off. Next turn OL finished the shield-less Colzet when I blanked all 3 dice.
So the final turns were my shuttle on half health (I used E.Baffle a couple times), Inq unharmed, and wampa on 1 hull, vs his unharmed OL. I successfully blocked OL with the Shuttle, and ion'd him. Wampa bumped my Shuttle on purpose to keep shooting at R1 by just moving 2 forward all the time, bumping again. This allowed me to use Palpatine on wampa for a damage card, and start whittling OL down. Next turn OL bumped again thanx to the Ion token, and I rolled another hit, so he got a new Ion token. Inq wasn't getting any damage through, as he was TLd by OL, but finally Wampa rolled a hit,hit, and palp turned a blank into a crit, so I finally damaged his SD. Next turn he bumped again, and I rolled a blank, so he breathed in relief, until I remembered him I had Palpatine... So he was Ion'd again! This time, wothout his SD, he fell to Inq and Wampa's attacks.

Result: Won 100-55

I ended up in 4th place of 18 players and really satisfied. I learned a lot of things and had an awesome time. My record (right after the tournament) with the list is 11-2, which is a bit (a HUGE bit) too high for my playing skills, but hey, gotta enjoy the moment!

Can I ask why you chose to take Colzet? I've never really thought about using him though I do like his ability. Thanks for the write up :)

I've seen people put FCS on Colzet, but I really like AC. You can K turn and not lose firepower, and 2 hits every time hurt low agility ships a lot.

TURN 4:

I come out fast and aggressive. Shuttle does a 3 straight and I focus. Colzet does a 3 turn to the right and Evades. Wampa does a 3 bank and also evades. If whisper comes at me, I might have a shot. Inq does a 4 Straight, and BRs to be able to TL Yorr.

Whisper, who had decloaked to his board edge (he forgot to decloak at first, but we "fixed" it), almost bumping Yorr, does a 4 straight through debris. Yorr takes the stress.

She then BRs out of range of Wampa and the OGP, and into R1 of Inq. His Shuttle runs away and OL starts coming in.

Whisper fires and scores 3 hits out of 5 dice, but I reminded him to use kallus on one of his focus results. He didn’t want to use Palp, or maybe he forgot. I rolled only 1 evade, spent my evade token, and used Palp, so I lost 1 shield. Colzet was the only one in range, and he used AC for 2 hits on whisper. Even with 5 dice, one hit goes through! He then remembers to use Palp, so it turned out great for him in the end!

TURN 5:

Whisper decloaks to his right, trying to block my Inq. I saw it coming, and selected a 4 Straight. My shuttle does a 2 bank and TLs Yorr. Colzet does a 2 turn to the left and TLs whisper. Wampa does a 2 bank to the right, beside the Shuttle.

Yorr does 1 bank to his right, to start turning around. OL turns to face my Inq, and TLs him.

Whisper turns 1 to his left, facing all but my Inq.

Whisper rolls hot, and scores 4 hits on Colzet (she still had the TL on Inq), and I only save 1, so I lose 2 shields and 1 hull, but decide not to use Palp.

OL doesn´t hurt the Inq and Wampa uses Palp to get a damage on OL. My shuttle takes 2 shields off Yorr.

TURN 6:

My Shuttle does a 2 bank to get close to OL and Whisper. I then proceed to TL OL. Wampa does a hard turn, going through debris to try to get a shot on whisper. I should have done a bank instead… Colzet runs away, and the Inq does a hard 1 turn to try to block OL, getting a focus, and a TL to get his evade as well.

I successfully block OL, but Whisper has another R1 shot with TL on Inquisitor. He gets all 5 hits, and I have to use my evade, my focus, and Palp, to “only” lose another shield. My shuttle makes OL lose his shield.

TURN 7:

My Shuttle keeps up the pressure. Wampa and Colzet close in to help. I try to fly through my Shuttle with the Inq, to flee from the heat of battle, but get greedy, and want to shed my stress as well, so instead of the obvious 5 speed, I select a 4 straight, bumping my shuttle.

Whisper closes in for the kill, and OL does a S-Loop to make sure he dies.

Inquisitor dies, of course, but I save Palpatine, as it wouldn’t have made ay difference. Wampa hits Whisper, and Colzet flips it up. (damaged sensor array, I think). Colzet also took one shield off Whisper with his AC.

TURN 8:

Whisper decloaks to his right, and I bump her with Colzet. Wampa does a 3k to keep Whisper in arc. My Shuttle does a 2 turn to my left, to try to block OL, while having arc on Whisper.

I successfully block OL, who is then Ion’d. (I apologize for the unpainted engines hehe).

Time runs out, so we can only finish this turn. Right now, I’m losing 31-0. Whisper moves forward, but not enough to get out of Wampa’s arc. Right now, if OL can’t finish Wampa, Whisper is surely dead. OL shoots Wampa, but 2 dice won’t cut it. Wampa lives, and Whisper dies. Yorr had 3 shields left and OL is down to 2 hull.

He makes me start. I do my usual moves, bumping the shuttle and colzet, and turning Wampa forn another block next turn.

I decided to turn right 1 with the Inq, but at the end I thought he'd see it coming so I do 4S to get closer to my other ships.

T3

This time I turn right 1 with inq, and turtle up. Colzet does a 2hard and evades. I mess up with wampa and instead of a 2S I turn, thinking I would bump Colzet and stay still. I Don't, and end up facing the wrong direction. Awful mistake, as I probably would have been able to get a damage on the enemy Inquisitor. The Shuttle advanced very little, as it bumped Wampa.

Soontir fails horribly, rolling only 1 hit and no focus on 4 dice at R1. I "waste" 3 natural evades.

Enemy Inq uses palp and I blank horribly, so I have to use Palp and the evade, and still lose 1 shield

The Shuttle does a red 3 bank to the right between the inq and Colzet, to try and block the enemy, I use E.Baffle so I focus.

Wampa turns 1 to the right and evades. Colzet turns left to try to block if he goes right. My inq moves 4s to avoid being shot, but has no shots either.

Enemy inq doesn't bump by a hair's width, and BRs to get out of wampa's arc. This makes soontir bump him.

I assume he's going to see clearly that I'm going to go full stop with the Lambda to try and block , so I changed my movement at the last minute and moved 3S to get out of the fight, or so I hoped...

Both Wampa and Colzet k-turn, to try and get his inq. Wampa's K-turn is also a risky attempt to block the enemy's shuttle. He goes for the full stop with his Lambda (oh crap), so Wampa is in a really bad spot. He surprisingly does a 1 turn with his inq. Come on! Soontir flees.

His inq goes for wampa, I blank, blank, evade and hang on 1 hull.

I use Palp on Wampa to deal Inq a dmg card. Remember that missed shot on turn 3? Enemy's shuttle goes for my shuttle instead of Wampa, and does 3 out of 4 damage without any mods. I only need to save 1 with my only green die to survive another turn, and I have a focus...Dead shuttle

Enemy Shuttle bumps Wampa, clearing stress. Wampa tries to block enemy's Inq to no avail. Colzet goes for the Shuttle to help my Inquisitor.

I awesomely roll crit, crit, crit with the Inq shooting his Shuttle and he uses Palp for an evade. Loses last shield and gets a crit.

Time is called and I only get half the points for the Shuttle.
