Species: Squib, Cathar, Togorian, i want my cute furries! Though i want to see official versions, i'm doing fine with the unofficial species menagerie for now.
Cute furries? What about Lahsbees and Hoojibs? ;-)

....omg that's so cute!! I want one of those!
A space miner spec. It could easily be combined with a scavenger/salvager spec.
Species: Cathar, only because Mandos are already stated out in the Rebels book.
Spec: More Bounty Hunter, and Consular ones.
Region: The Rishi maze. A entire galaxy.(Sure it's a dwarf galaxy. But, still.
)
Ship: Anything Mandalorian, so: Teroch-class gunship; Daavab-class Starfighter, Kor'mk class fighter/frieghter, Kyrat Gunship, those wierd gunships that only fit like two people from TCW, Etc, Etc, Etc,
I'm still hoping Houk shows up as a PC species.

I loved Max Brooks' "Neimodian Conspiracy Theorist" character concept.
I would love to see star-ship, creatures, and vehicle adversary decks. I love the current deck's and would buy these over any of the career specialization decks.
Species: Miraluka, Cathar, Rattataki, Pantoran/Wroonian (c'mon, Savage Spirits), Talz, Kaleesh, Abednedo.
Specs: A Swordsman, a non-Force spec with Parry.
Region: Shadowports, Deep Core.
Ships: [heavy breathing]

Aww c'mon, give the space-bunnies some love ![]()
As for species, I would like to see the Mandalorian (probably a human sub species) as well as more info on their culture and home world, I mean they are iconic, my guess is they will probably appear in the fabled bounty hunter book seeing their prevalence as such in the official canon. I could also see them expanded in FaD as they often where nemesis of the Jedi in the past but that look unlikely given the current format of the book.
I would also like a Starship deck as flipping trough all those book for ship stats and all is becoming annoying, especially for the core book as they seams cheaply bound and I already see wear and tear on my AoR core book after one complet read trough and two mont on once a week play, so meh. Not sure if it's likely to happen but a girl can hope.
What I would really be trilled about would be a true ship compendium with schematic and deck plan/map of freighter and bigger ship, but given the way the line is developed I also do not feel very optimistic about it. as for ship per see I would like to see both the Raider and Gladiator as well as the rebel assault frigate, and anything that we see in Armada as I use the model as stand in when required, as many of my player are of the "I like / need visual cue variety".
A coffee table Art Book, probably closer to the end of the line to catch all the truely amazing pieces.
If diminutive desert scavenger is some sort of requirement for a Star Wars game, I'd rather see the Teedo from Ep.7. The look totally B.A., they're all named Teedo so you aren't struggling with a character name, they don't, yet again, inflate the importance of Tatooine; and they ride cybernetic horse-hippos. That's a win-win-win-win.
I'd also like to see Kyuzo as I like their hats.
Honestly, I don't think anything is "missing." I'm anticipating that the Corporate Sector Authority and/or some sort of shadowport setting book will be included in the Edge product line but I'm not going to flip out if it isn't. The bounty hunter book will probably cover the whole Pinkerton detective/private eye vibe.
Everyone has their favorite Legends alien but space-carrot eating critters like (*shudder*) Lepi don't really fit with the hard scrabble, Star-Wars-as-Cyberpunk-2020-Western-space-trucker feel that Edge is going for. Which means I'm not going to waste energy campaigning for their inclusion.

I'm not sure that adding Jawa's "inflates the importance of Tatooine" ? They're just an iconic race of the genre. Given their culture, of being scavengers and traders, it seems just as reasonable that they would be migrating to other worlds, just like every other race. My enjoyment of the Jawa race doesn't really have any ties to Tatooine itself. To me, making Tatooine some super special nexus place in the lore, defeats the purpose of it being the "backwater hole in the wall" place to hide a kid with a mark on his head. But it is still a planet with a starport, and constant commercial traffic going in and out. No reason some Jawas wouldn't go off planet and join the larger community.
Personally, I just find them amusing in their appearance. I mean come on! They've already got brown robes! They're like 90% already suited to being Jedi! ![]()

If you don't want to wait for an "official" appearance, you can enjoy the write up in Rancor Publishing Group's "STAR WARS Rebels: Spark of Rebellion".

I can see why this might appeal, and guys like Donovan have done some good work at getting 'under the hood' of the system design.
But (aside from the aforementioned Donovan) I've never seen a custom spec for this game that wasn't 'all the best bits of other specs all in one place'.
As I look at almost two dozen star wars books on my shelf, I'd love to see some Compendium books put out. One for Equipment and equipment mods. One for vehicles and vehicle mods. One for Races and planets. That way It would be super easy to look up a particular thing without going through the entire library. They could add compendium only content into each one so as to sate the complaints about buying old content over again. They can also add errata.

I think it's a matter of balance and perspective really. Most spec trees seem to give you 2, maaaybe 3 things that you are good at. If you are building a spec to fit some missing concept, like Pilot/Slicer, maybe because you want to make a guy who is jacked into his ship or something. Seems pretty easy to just yoink out a particular branch of the Pilot tree, and the Slicer tree, and just moosh them together. I mean, they build the branches pretty well, to move along a particular path, and along that path, you grow a particular set of skills....skills that make me a terror for people like you....*coughs*...sorry, drifted off there for a second. Where was I? Right! But yeah, I don't know why it would be that hard? I mean if you are trying to copy paste some crazy mishmash of like 5 different specs, then yeah, that's going to be insane. The basic concepts seem pretty straightforward:
1st tier talent: Gives a boost die for 1/2 skills, or removes setback die for 1/2 skills, per rank of talent. Or, gives an upgrade to a check once per encounter/session, for cost of strain. Adding +1 to a static value for the character (Soak/strain/etc)
2nd tier: Lets you spend Triumph in a unique way, or make a roll against 2-3 difficulty check, to provide a boost die/upgrade/auto success to an ally, once per encounter/session, at cost of strain. Further ranks of above mentioned talents that provide cumulative benefit. Adding +1 to a static value for the character (Soak/strain/etc) Allowing you to spend strain to gain a cumulative benefit, based on ranks in talent. Like amount of damage ignored per rank for things like Parry/Reflect. Picking one skill to provide a cumulative boost to checks made with that skill, like being able to have a Triumph equal more successes or swap it out for advantage if you so choose, when using that one skill.
3rd tier: Further ranks of above mentioned talents that provide cumulative benefit. Some unique ability, letting you use a skill in an unorthodox way once per encounter/session, that is really useful, but might have a negative result if threat is rolled in result. Adding +1 to a static value for the character (Soak/strain/etc)
4th tier: Adding +1 to a static value for the character (Soak/strain/etc), Further ranks of above mentioned talents that provide cumulative benefit. Something really unique, like letting you use a characteristic or skill in a way completely out of normal rules for that. Like Willpower for a Ranged Light dice pool, or ranks in a skill in place of your characteristic for another type of pool. Like using Knowledge Lore to determine your Force Rating for a specific roll. Or letting you reroll specific skill related results a number of times per session based on ranks in talent.
5th tier: All the other above stuff in whatever combination, plus some other stuff that can be super crazy, like forgetting people exist, replicating results from Force powers.
Yeah it's rough, as I don't have my books for reference, but that seems to be the basic gist of most trees, with some swapping around here and there. Sometimes you get something that might normally be a 3rd tier as a 2nd tier ability, but then the 4th tier instead has some 1st tier stuff that's really costly (like Grit for 20xp or whatever).
FFG made it really easy to come up with your own specs in my opinion. Assuming you are being reasonable, and not trying to munchkin minmax it to hell and back
But that's on the person, not the system.
I mean if you are trying to copy paste some crazy mishmash of like 5 different specs, then yeah, that's going to be insane.
A lot of the custom specs I see seem to have accidentally been munchkinised... The aim not being to min-max but try to do 'the James Bond Spec' or 'the Batman Spec'.
Which can't really be done, because experienced characters are built using several specs rather than just one.
Also, sometimes just having a decent skill will be fine. A Spec is something that really defines the character, gives them all the tricks. Not everyone who we see flying a starship needs Pilot; sometimes a good Piloting/Space skill will fit. Han Solo would have the Pilot spec because it kinda defines him; Boba Fett wouldn't, no matter how good he might be, his expertise lies in other areas.
