Future Unique Squadrons?

By Plebian, in Star Wars: Armada

Do you think they will ever have unique squadrons for the squadrons already released?

I would really love Lando aboard the MF, or Kyle Katarn on the Moldy Crow but am unsure how they will handle that, since they never release cards alone and have already released the squadrons.

In X-wing they basically just paint them a different color and rebox the mini's with new cards and upgrades. I've talked about this conecpt for Armada with friends of mine in meatspace. They also could do a release that has some new miniatures, but also has cards/counters/etc for alternate uniques for already released mini's. Be a way to get lambda, Ghost, Decimator, etc, and boost existing units with other personalities, and for veteran/unique squadrons.

I like the idea of the Lamda, Ghost, Decimator....

Aswell as Z-95's, Skiprays, Starvipers.

Theres more than enough content for at least one pack per faction - No points worked out, I ain't a playtster

Rebel advanced squadrons - E-Wing, K-Wing, Z-95, VCX-100

E- Wing - Speed 4, hull 4, Weapons 4 blue/1 Red AS - Escort, Bomber

Corran Horn - Scatter, Brace - Escort, Bomber Swarm. If activated by a squadron command, You can also move / or attack during the squadron phase

K-Wing - Speed 2, Hull 7, Weapons 2 Blue/2 Black AS - Bomber, heavy, Counter 1

Miranda Doni - Brace, brace - heavy, Counter 2. when attacking, You may roll one fewer attack die to recover one hull, or you may suffer one damage to roll 1 extra black die

Z-95 - Speed 3, Hull 4, Weapons 3 Blue/1 blue AS - Escort, Swarm

Airen Cracken - scatter, brace - Escort, Swarm - After you move, another squadron at distance 1 may attack a ship or squadron, even if it has already activated this round.

VCX-100 - Speed 3, Hull 8, Weapons 3 Blue/2 Black AS - Counter 2, Intel, Heavy

Hera Syndulla - Brace, Brace - Counter 2, Intel - After you attack, you may make another move up to distance 1

Imperial advanced squadrons - TIE Defender, TIE Phantom, TIE Punisher, Decimator

TIE Defender - Speed 4, Hull 6, Weapons 4 Blue/1 Red, 1 Blue A/S- Escort, Swarm, Bomber

Rexler Brath - Scatter, Brace - Escort, Swarm, Bomber, Counter 1 - After you perform an anti ship attack, if you dealt a facedown damage card, you may turn it face up.

TIE Phantom - Scatter - Speed 4, Hull 4, Weapons 4 Blue/1 Blue A/S - Swarm, intel

Wisper - Scatter, Scatter - Swarm, intel - . During the command phase, Exhaust 1 Scatter token to add 1 blue to an attack. After you perform an attack, you may refresh 1 scatter token.

TIE Punisher - Speed 2, Hull 6, Weapons 2 blue/2 Black A/S - Heavy, Bomber

Redline - Heavy, Bomber - When attacking you may reroll one of your AS die

V49 Decimator - Brace - Speed 2, hull 9 Weapons 4 Blue /2 Blue A/S - Heavy, Escort, Intel

Rear Admiral Chiraneau - Heavy, Escort, Intel - Squadrons within distance 2 may move even if engaged

Wouldn't the Defender not have swarm (due to the low numbers in service) and have a black/blue Anti-ship?

Small number of defenders, yes, but high number of cheap TIEs around it. (also used to represent its superior manovrability and weaponry) Also, I chose Red/Blue AS to make it slightly better than the X-Wing (Its competitor), but not a full fledged bomber like the B-wing

I read your thingy wrong, it looked like 4 blue 1 red anti squadron :P

The red dice would be pretty cool to switch it up.

I would like to see the TIE-Avenger and pirate craft like the T-Wing and such.

And a recon pack:

TIE Vanguard and TIE Scout for imperials

Y-Wing long probe and Recon A-Wings for the rebels.

I want a batch of Ugly fighters...

I (sadly) doubt we'll ever see Lando in the Millennium Falcon, for instance. If you look at Han's Armada card, the unique dot is by Han Solo's name, but not by the Millennium Falcon title. This prevents you from having more than one Han Solo on the board, but does not protect against having more than one Falcon.

So if they were to make a Lando Calrissian in the Millennium Falcon, you could in theory run him side-by-side with Han who is also aboard the Millennium Falcon. This isn't a huge problem, per se, but it probably suggests they have no intention of releasing alternate pilots for their unique freighters.

I want some plain squads like X-wings with rogue

There are two XWing Aces, no reason not to have two YT1300 aces or even three with Chewie as well. Just need a new card circle.

I like some of the ideas from Funk Fu. There are ways I'd tweak some of those but I'd like to see what you think the points should be.

As for additions to squadrons all ready released, that's easy: just add their cards and dials to the "yet-to-be-released" squadron pack. Heck, make it two separate packs (Reb, Imp) that way you have balance for wave 4
