Maby you have read in one of my early topic that i run a campaigen where a dead PC psyker mystical return and make hell out for my players ( here is the link if you want to read about it http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_foros_discusion.asp?efid=101&efcid=3&efidt=237005&efpag=0#239994)

Now i ´have run this part for my players and it actully worked quite well expet one thing. when they got inside the govnores palace to the big party, they diddent detect the psyker because he got all his bionics remove and look perfectly normal. but after some time my Adept that never havde meet the psyker before meet him and begin a conversion with him, without knowing that this was his old Charchater. Well after some time the Guardman saw the adept talking to one of his old fellow acylotes, and start to freak out ( the Players have made a giant setup for the Evilness that should show up at this party, they have done it with arming the whole building with Inquisitorial Storm troppers). But when the guardman saw his old freind he diddent know what to do when that guy should be long gone and dead. the guardman also got the control of the Storm troppers but when he was freaking out he forgot to alert them before it was all to late. the Psyker mind controled the guardman, without any others to notice. The mind controlled guardman suddenly order all the Storm tropper to start shoot down the governor and all other high official nobels. the Scum detect what is going on but to late. The storm troppers shoot the governor, the guards in the palace start shooting the Storm troppers, the psyker stops the mind controlling of the guardman. The Scum alert all the other players about the psyker and the adept reacts fast but miss with his first shoot, the rest team also miss. The adept shoot with his Hrud Plasma Fusil, he hits 2d10 Warp, tearring. He rolls two 10 and one 8 on righteous, in all 28 damage ingore amour. the psyker fall to the ground the storm troppers and guards stop shooting and all got a felling that something is wrong. the acylotes start walking towards the psykers "Dead" body. The scum ( prime ) go over to the "Dead" psyker and flip his body over and look on him. Here the really bad things start, the psykers body suddenly begin to fly up in the air and a evil wind flies through the room with words that nobody knows. the psykers body starts to burn from inside ( now count as moltenman ;D )

Well we stop right here, abit bad place, but now my Players have asked me if this was a psyker demonhost or a psyker, ofc i not told them, but it start me thinking of what this was, and i dont know i hope somone can help me, and also maby come with some detail of whats gonna happen from here ;D

First, starting things up you are not able to see reason in yourself is bad pratice. gui%C3%B1o.gif

Well, I would tend to some daemonic entity that was able to possess the psyker due to some of his dimisihing soul-self being present inside of this body the moment that he passed. I would play this entitiy as an daemon host (as unbound as you please), but since the body was more dead alive, I would make it "instabel" as per se standard rules for daemons.

In one of the 40k novels a ship crewman was possessed by a creature from the warp when the warp storm hit a bit too hard against the ships Gellar fields. The warp-creatures nature was never established or explained in any way but it was while possessing a person the first thing it did was break all the limbs of its host because it had absolutely no idea on which way humans are supposed to bend but it had enough power to manipulate the flesh and bone any way it wished. After sometime it had pretty much broken the possessed body into a mass of bone and flesh fragments. It was unstable as demons are but a **** hard thing to kill or banish since it could shoot pressurized blood and bone fragments like a shotgun or just maul people with tentacle-like extensions of warped flesh and bones. Finally, I think, it took several hundred lasgun and shotgun shots plus a heavy flamer explosion to kill it. Nasty bugger.

If you want to set up the players with something really nasty, disgusting and potentially sanity-blowing go with that. The best thing is that you don't even have to name it. Its just one of those millions of unknown and unnamable horrors from the warp. If you need to explain it to yourself, go with following:

- Psyker was first possessed by a minor demon so he was more like insane psyker with a demon whipsering in his ears

- When the psykers body was killed with the nasty warp-weapon the minor demon fled but unfortunately the last dying-scream of the psyker opened a tore a hole into reality and something else slipped into the dying body from the warp.

Do you remember the novell? And where there any similiar things going on? This idea is quiet amazing and I start to wonder if said novell would be worth purchasing as source for further inspiration.

The warp-creature I described was in one chapter of Legacy (by Matthew Farrer). I originally got it to get some inspiration on Adeptus Arbites but there was sadly little of that. Most of the middle-part describes internal squabbles of a Rogue Trader fleet so you can probably pick up a few nice ideas about setting adventures aboard a spaceship.

I am soon to have some experience in this field. In my campaign, a Psyker has suffered one too many Perils attacks, and ended up being mutated beyond the point of humanity, and was summarily murdered by his compatriots. Or was he? He was fighting off mulltiple possessions at the time, so basically, he has been possessed by a daemonhost. For now, I'm basically assuming the Psyker's stats with the Daemonhost's Psy Rating, until such time as the Daemonhost reveals its true, horrible nature.

So, after some very usefull informations, "back2topic"

You asked "what could happen next":

First of all, all that guardsmen/stormtroopers that aren´t scared out of there wits will open up fire on the thing flying above ground. What is the roof of like? Is there a huge glass panel? If so (or if there are any huge windows) make them shatter & scatter like shrapnel (dark powers are such a wonderfull thing!). You can combine this with a bright flash of light and a massiv BANG (see Minor Psychic Power "FLASHBAN", just add the shrapnel-effect of the glas shards. Perhaps like Fragment Grenade, but "Primitive"). Since every sane being will cover eye & faces (or simply turn round/move the head away), the "Daemon Thing" will be able to fly out of such a window (or at least get a head start for doing so).

Once out, he should have a good chance of simply getting out of the way. So you have some time to catch your breath (and allow the pc to do the same) and come up with some plan/reason why this thing is there in the first place! Of course, you can simply call it to disappear and end this chapter. happy.gif
